Often you make these trades with an independent dealer with whom you've already done business. The trusted sellers on this forum and others are the place to start. Find a watch you want and offer a watch you own in trade. My very first trade was with one such seller I'd never dealt with before. I made an offer, we negotiated, and I ended up with my grail watch. I got some good info from him durning the process too.

The important thing is to end up with the watch YOU really want. Doesn't matter what watch it is, doesn't matter what everyone else thinks. YOU are the one that needs to be satisfied.

Poke around on the Classifieds section here and on sites like WatchRecon and Chrono24 to get an idea of values. Then you can make a reasonable and informed trade offer.
