Vintage Wrist Shot
Hello, been reading here for a while, but making my first post now. To date, my collection is all 90's and beyond with mostly sport model watches. I'm looking at a 1960's Rolex Oyster Perpetual (no date) online and I'm trying to decide from pictures if it will be too small for my taste. Any wrist shots appreciated. I think my wrist is about 6.75 if anyone's is similar.
Thank! |

Ah, but WHICH no-date OP? There were both 34mm and 36mm cases at that time. Common 34s are 1002, the 36 is 1018 and that group.
Does it make a difference? I think the consensus on the forum is yes, to some. I wear both, but confess a slight preference for the 36mm. They tend to be a little more expensive than the 34mm.

Honestly I'm still trying to figure out if it's 34mm or 36mm. Not enough posts to put up a link or an image yet though.

Are there any defining differences that can be told from a picture to determine if it is the 34mm or 36mm model?

If there is a picture from the back and the watch is on a strap and the strap clearly says "19" as in 19mm, that's definitely a 34mm. That's the only solid one I can think of, the same does not apply to the 36 because some folks will carve out the lugs from the inside to fit a 20mm band on a 34mm case.
