Glidelock with Extended Power Reserve
I know Glidelock was designed for dive watches, however I think the clasp is amazing and it would be a great upgrade for all Oyster bracelets! Didn't EasyLink start on sport models before being moved to Datejust?
Regarding the Oyster-bracelet watches with a 70-ish hour power reserve--Sea Dweller, Sky Dweller, Yacht Master II, Daytona, and DJ41--only the Sea Dweller has Glidelock. The Sub and Deep Sea have Glidelock, but lack the 70-hour 3235. What watches will follow Sea Dweller with both extended power reserve and glidelock? Maybe in this order? 1. Deep Sea (unless discontinued) 2. Sub 3. Sky Dweller 4. Daytona 4. Yacht Master II 5. Daytona 6. GMT 7. Yacht Master 40 8. Explorer II 9. Explorer 10. Oyster Perpetual |

Glidelock is designed for 1 purpose.
Regardless of whether any one actually uses it for that purpose is irrelevant to Rolex. They won't put a Glidelock on a Skydweller because it's not a dive watch. Same reason they won't put a GMT function on a Sub - it's not designed to be a pilot or travellers watch. Regarding any upgrades to the Sub, my guess would be not until 2023. Why? Well that will be the 70th anniversary year. Obviously, only Rolex have the answer to any of the above and will most probably do something completely different, but hey just my thoughts... Hearing no more chime-ins, I have seen the light, TRF members think Glidelock should only be on dive watches. |

Deep Sea and Sub have glidelock. When the new movement will be rolled out to other date watches is anyone guess. I guess it really doesn't require a larger case since the DJ41 has it already.
