After about 3 hours sitting in the decanter — this opened up VERY nicely to go with our New Years antipasti plate!

Happy New Year to all my TRF wine friends!!

Opened one of these little gems this evening to go with a nice steak, some sautéed kale and roasted beets —

Small production boutique style winery around the base of the Mayacamas mountains — it’s big and bold - but not over the top has some hints of blackberry, currant and a little bit of spice as you would expect from Veeder.

Has some depth to it as well - so I’m sure it will cellar well!

Cheers all!!

Trefethen...I prefer wines that are estate grown, produced, and bottled. They have great offerings if you feel the same.

Trefethen makes some GREAT wines!! It makes for an easy pull from the cellar for sure!

Their Dragon’s Tooth Malbec is great - and Halo is one of our favorites!

Cheers!

Just pulled these from the cellar for this evening — both from the Côte de Beaune region in Burgundy for this evening — the red is pairing with an antipasti plate - and we’re chilling the white for the king crab main course.

If I’m going to plan to open up a red and white in the same evening (Burgundy) — I like to try to keep within the same region.

Cheers all!!!!

Try that Dragon’s Tooth with pizza - it’s and UNREAL - non traditional pairing — a friend of mine at the winery turned us on to it.

Okay, I drink lots of American wine...Napa, Sonoma, Georgia, etc. It is my comfort zone. I know which $200 bottles are crap and which $30 bottles are amazing.

How did y'all become so well versed in foreign wine? I avoid it because I do not want to waste money on a product that I do not like. I understand that if I like a Georgia Sangiovese or a Napa Cabernet, I should like the wine from the original region, but I still steer clear.

What a great accompaniment for oysters Kevin!

Had some very young Burgundy myself, it was tremendous, con only imagine what this will be like in 10 years when it's coming into it's own...

Long story short- wife and I just had our first baby. It’s cold in Philly. In laws have a house in FL that we’re at until February for my wife’s maternity leave and I can work remotely. Her parents aren’t here that often (MIL jumping horses and FIL travels a lot for work) so we kind of have the run of the place.
Just picked up this bottle as a small thank you. Hope they open it with us!

Pulled one of these little gems from the cellar for this evening. Krupp Brothers make some great wines.

Stagecoach Vineyard fruit with a little elevation - and this one has a little age on it. Should be good!

Cheers!! HAGWE all!!
