I finally got tired of waiting and purchased from a trusted seller on TRF. Decision made easier since I had a watch to sell as well. Once you factor in sales tax you aren't paying too much of a premium to buy here now rather than wait and wait and wait...

Am I living in a parallel universe? Why on gods green earth would ANYONE wait more than 24 hours for an SD43 or others, when you can buy one literally TODAY here, or with one of our trusted sellers? CALL DAVID SW. Its literally the best retail experience you'll ever have. In any field.
I don't get it. For what? Because you get a cold bottled water, and a pat on the back? |

That said, if I really wanted it that badly I'd much rather cough up a thousand bucks and enjoy it as opposed to waiting a few years. |

There are SD43's for sale on here, and at TFR's for prices BELOW or at retail, including tax. If you pay tax at all! Unless youre talking SS daytona, the inflated prices are AT the AD's. My theory is, people start threads whining about AD wait times because then they can whine about it for months or years, though they have no intention of actually buying one. |

Easy tiger...I didn't start a thread whining about wait times, go back and read it. I was simply asking a question...and I received several helpful replies. |

Going back 2 weeks, it looks like everyone is 1-2K above list and most of them have sold. I don't see any listed in the 10-11K range. I have never had a US AD try and charge more than msrp. |

With all due respect I think you’re being a little harsh by using the term “trusted scalper”. They’re not guilty of doing anything but capitalizing on a hot watch market. Did you ever think they were doing anything else but trying their best to turn a profit? Do you have a job? Don’t you go to work each day trying to maximize your time at work? Why shouldn’t they have that right? If you want to blame someone blame the brands that have fueled the gray market by creating an imbalance of supply/demand. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Would you call one of these people a Trusted Scalper to their face? If you ran into one at the bar would you say, “oh you’re one of those trusted scalpers on TRF!” If you wouldn’t it’s because it is derogatory. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

But back to waitinglist.... I was quoted "several months" at least, when putting my name on the list for both, SubC and SD43 Sadly I'm turning 40 this year, and if there is no word from AD come summer/autumn, I maybe have to take a plane and visit the U.S. |

No way or Trusted Sellers have them for sale at pretty good prices.

If you buy one from a TS, is the warranty card blank - and therefore able to be in your name - or is it in the TS name as the original purchaser?

My SD43 hunting story... Talked to an AD in Shreveport and confirmed that they had a SD43, but they did not want to take any deposit. So it was all verbally committed. I bought a plane ticket to go get it. On my way there, I was told the watch was not available anymore. Shame on this business.
In Colorado, I was asked for 25% deposit and was told an estimate of 9 months. Passed on that one. At another AD, they saw more SD43s coming and going. I put a 50% deposit and was told an estimate of 2 months. Will see how that goes. |

Yeah agree that 3-4 years wait list is stupid
Large ADs have them 1 or 2 sitting in their vaults. Depends what your relationship is with the AD and past purchase history and you will get one that day :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I would not wait more than 6 months to buy from AD
I have seen some who found it sitting at store, via luck or active search. SD43 suggested retail is $11,350, plus sales tax (Can’t imagine AD discounting it at this time) U can do the math to see how comparable it is to trusted seller price here... That’s why I bought mine from DavidSW It’s not like the grey market price for ceramic Daytona or the ss skydweller... which currently is selling with roughly $6000 and $4500 mark-up, respectively. Personally I would not pay that much of a mark-up.

I put my name on lists in So. Cal., Vegas, and two in Portland, Ore. Got a call from AD in So.Cal., in three months. Kept in touch by phone and in person and became friends with my salesperson. It helped. She said they don't like pushy, nasty people..... LOVE IT. Glad I didn't settle for another.

20% down today at AD, told 6-8 weeks wait but could be quicker. My guy tells me that his shop just got the ability to special order them.
We'll see:-) |

I think these are starting to hit the market.
I went to the largest Rolex AD today in a large Asian city with lots and lots of Rolex ADs. None of them have had an SD available prior. Today, they had one (and a Deep Sea blue) in the display case. $13k ... if you purchase a solid gold reference with it with a price of not less than $45k. $16k if you buy by itself. I asked if she could write down the price on her business card. She declined. |
