I vote 5-digit. It has that timeless yet retro 70s/80s look that the bloated 6-digit can't touch.

I mean, it is a solid gold watch, so you can't go wrong with something that looks like it belongs on the wrist of a "Miami Vice" character!

X2. From a durability and design standpoint the 6 digit references are by far the best watches Rolex has ever made.

I’m glad you asked. I’m really torn between the 5 and 6 digit YG Submariner. I really love the proportions of the 5 digit, but the clasp and the ceramic bezel gives it the edge. Also, I want a more sporty look and the bigger case gives it a sportier look.

The latter is more of an acquired taste - and a more difficult find / search to find the right watch. :)

If all 5 digits looked like this, then absolutely. This is a perfect example. I just find the purple dial to be distracting. Otherwise, 6 digit.

Dials that turned purple are kind of uncommon. It isn't exactly an inherent flaw in every 16618 or 16613. I agree though I wouldn't want one with purple fever unless I'd owned it since it was blue - Then I'd love it.

Taste changes. I like the old school case lines and bezel font styling more now.
