I think I would get a high end tesla and go 0-60 in 2.3 seconds or a G63 personally.

Depends on the ride you want.

BMW is a performance oriented brand and drives more like a performance/sports car. The driver can feel the road much better in a BMW than in competitors models.

Mercedes, Lexus, et al, are for drivers who prefer to drive their couch down the highway. No feel. Are they luxurious? Yes. Are they comfortable? Yes. Are they driver's cars? Only if you are a marshmallow. Incase nobody here knows - S class stands for SNOOZE Class.

To be fair - I drive a 2016 M3, so I might be a wee bit biased. I will never own a Mercedes or Lexus. Bleh. They would kill me with boredom within weeks, maybe days.

Go with BMW or be bored.

It'll be out within 18-24 months... Couldn't think of one reason for someone to take a Tesla over this. I'd rather just be patient.

Not a stellar deal! Ever since Tesla came on scene, luxury sedans have suffered. If money is no object go for it. You can always look for dealer driven low miles options to save more.
For the record I am on 2nd 7, CPO purchases no better deal in market.

I drove a P100D and was totally surprised by the lack of build quality.

Glad to know you’re an owner, how do you like the drive, comfort? How’s the reliability, anything usually go wrong?

Generally build quality on flagship sedans is top notch. As long as you have warranty nothing to worry, electrical stuff is challenging on these cars. My car has been in shop a few time for sensors, front suspension bushing is another area which requires frequent attention, I guess comes with territory. Heavy car challenges.
As far as ride and comfort goes nothing beats, it will eat miles and gas very liberally. Tires and brakes too!!!

Well said. Rolls Royce is a step above Bentley. Mercedes is not a step above BMW.

I would go MB given the 2 choices.

Have you looked at the RS7 or S8?
