Found these two little guys hiding in a store cellar in downtown San Diego tonight. Not a bad price and they let me keep the box too. :)

Tonight’s selection. Still on the younger side — but delicious.

Nice! We couldn't wait, opened one last night but took all of 5 hours to drink it. It was amazing tasting it change every 30 minutes or so. I think around two hours of sitting it really was something special. If I can source some more I'll be tempted to serve it with Xmas dinner this year.

Also just 10 minutes ago purchased another hundred acre, this one a 2012 Ark. Wife might be slightly mad when she sees the checking account.

I completely understand!! And that is why you always get 2-3 bottles!!!!

Dominus is truly one of the greatest American wines ever produced and it never disappoints.

Hundred Acre is spectacular and one of my top 5– I’ve opened many - a bottle and the ‘12 is spectacular - a perfect example of a BIG, BOLD in your face Cabernet. Enjoy that!!!! (I know you will!!!) and the Ark - mountain fruit is great. If you ever run across Few And Far Between — definitely try — as well as Deep Time (aged in the barrel roughly twice as long)

Cheers!!!

Deep time sounds interesting. I'll probably open the Ark for my wife's birthday as I was caught buying it by her right as I was typing out that last post.

A wine GTG would be pretty cool. Enjoy the weekend, my friend. How was the Opus? I have a couple 2010s and 2012s waiting for me.

The opus was GREAT — it will be SO much better in 10 years - but was nice to have a look into where it’s at.

I KNOW the 10 is SPECTACULAR and peaking right now

Cheers my friend!

We opened a 2013 Marchesi Mazzei Chianti Classico Castello di Fonterutoli Gran Selezione
last night and finished it off tonight. Very enjoyable and glad I have two more, wish I had six more though.

Was in Sta Rita Hills yesterday. I try to get up a few times a year to restock. Very fortunate to have this quality of wines in Ca. I no longer buy at Costco or bevmo. I now shop exclusively a vineyards and tasting rooms.

One thing I do have to say from what we’ve been opening with friends over the last 5 days...leave the PlumpJack in the cellar...

Or decant it for at LEAST 24 hours.

I am not really a connesseour... I just drink what I like.

I have not tried this Brunello yet but I like the Terra di Lavoro, in particular its “earthy” taste, quite a unique wine.
