Price increase

When is the price increase supposed to hit? And if it does, do you think it will affect the new ss Pepsi?

No one knows and no it will not affect the Pepsi anytime soon. The watch was just announced. They will not increase the price before anyone even has it.

The last US price book is dated June 1, 2012 with the exception of new pages for items updated or released since 2012. Generally when there is a price increase it is across the board. The SS Pepsi is priced according to the current price book. The BLNR is currently $8950 so if a 10% across the board increase was announced the BLNR would be around $9850 or $600 more that the SS Pepsi. It would be my guess that the Pepsi would go up proportionately since it based on current pricing. Its been almost 6 years since the last increase in the US and the economy is supposedly on the uptick.

While I am no expert, If I were to place a wager, I would say prices are staying the same for 2018.

I have a hard time believing they will increase prices across the board any time soon this year, especially before the release of the new Basel pieces. Suggested retail prices have already been quoted for new watches. Why would they announce those prices if they were going to raise them as part of an inventory-wide price increase?

Since it's been all the buzz here, let's use the new SS Pepsi as an example. Given the new MSRP for that watch is $9,250 (~3% and ~9% higher than the current BLNR and LN models, respectively), it doesn't give much wiggle room for the current models to raise in price. Surely they wouldn't raise prices on everything else and have the older SS models cost more than Pepsi. At the same time, why would Rolex price the Pepsi at $9,250 if they were anticipating a price increase in the immediate near-term.

On the note of GMT II pricing, based on the data points above, it looks like they are charging ~$200 more for the new movement in the Pepsi. Price difference between the BLNR and Pepsi is $300. Assuming the same premium exists on the bi-color cerachrom bezel (i.e., black/blue and red/blue command the same premium over all black) and $100 difference for the jubilee bracelet, you're looking at a $200 difference. The bracelet cost difference is based on simply looking at a SS DJ36 and the price difference between the oyster and jubilee bracelet option on the same watch.

Only prob is the colors of the Pepsi are not attractive and bleed into pink and the blue is too saturated. Not impressed at all.

Ha yes! Well, the execution of the bi-color bezel is an entirely separate discussion (one that has been akin to beating a dead horse for the better part of the last month here).

Only point I was trying to make was the assumption that the price premium attached to a bi-color cerachrom bezel is about the same. Doesn't matter what the colors are (or how pretty or ugly you think they are), just that it's more difficult to do than a single color and thus commands a price premium.

No one knows! Rolex doesn’t share any decisions or changes until they happen!
dealers and grey market folks keep making people believe the price increase is eminent, there are reasons to think it is and other to make you think it’s not
Bottom line, no one knows anything and it’s all speculations!!

Just do a search. There are many threads on the topic already. Nobody knows when prices will increase.
