Verification needed please help

Hi fellow enthusiasts. I would like to kindly seek some help on the verification of this day date available through a local resale app.

It's hard to tell from those pictures, but it looks a little iffy to me.

Definitely needs better pix.

Thanks for the reply peeps, the watch is not with me at the moment. But the seller has agreed to meet at RSC tomorrow morning for verification. Will update the thread and add photos if it checks out and I purchase it.

Singapore version of chrono24. But it has everything ranging from books to houses. It is popular amongst Singaporeans.

Good that the RSC is going to authenticate it. That said, if the RSC authenticates it and hands it back, watch it like a hawk. Or better yet, have them just hand it back to you or set it down in the open. Don't fall prey to some cheap slight-of-hand switch maneuver.

Agree that it's sketchy that the pictures are so bad.

You can tell nothing from those photos
Need photos of back of watch lugs, rehaut and bracelet.

If genuine this watch MUST be 18kt White Gold or Platinum - not sure it looks that to me

If the seller is prepared to have it inspected at an RSC as you have posted then I see no issues.

I agree with Matt but for the seller to have an authentic model and an exact fake would surprise me.

This is good advice right here.

Plenty of slight of hand where they swap the real one out with a fake after its been inspected. You get all caught up in the moment and even a fake will look good after a AD authenticates it. Do not let that out of your sight for a second once the AD hands it back. If the person has bad intentions they will try a distraction move etc. Looks like a great watch if it all checks out.

Listen to the others about a potential switch! What I have done in the past in a similar situation is bring along a black electrical strap/tie that locks and can only be removed by cutting it and once removed can’t be put back on. I put this around the bracelet and this gives me additional assurance in the event the watch leaves my view even for a split second. Every little bit helps! If the transaction goes through the buyer cuts it off and if not the seller can take the watch back and cut it off!

I agree with this 100%. Bad pic and my antennae go up. There’s a reason trusted sellers photograph so professionally and from so many different angles, and so close up.

Be careful.

If the seller can't produce clear photos of the watch and paperwork then he is either slightly incompetent or vague by design.

It may all turn out fine, but consider possible situations.

Is the watch genuine?
Is the watch the actual property of the seller?
Does the seller have bad intentions?
Will you be carrying a large amount of cash?

Nope. Not anymore. Some folks have the transaction there. Maybe agree that the sale only proceeds after for example, buying an extra link or sizing the bracelet. Before RSC does that they’ll inspect the watch first. That can be considered as a verification as well.
