Best watch bargains today? Tudor

I’ve heard AD’s stating wait lists for the new Tudor GMT and 58.
No idea if true as I’m not buying one via a waitlist.
I’ve heard every Rolex model at this point sans a few two tones and Milgauss and airking are unobtainable. Ok. Seems somewhat confirmed by many on this forum.

What is a watch enthusiast to buy if they want Tudor or Rolex related products.

In my opinion the best bargain and a great watch to purchase is any Tudor Blackbay In House, Used. I own 3 myself. Great watches, affordable, available.

No wait-Same enjoyment.

Quality! Who knows maybe eventually all Tudors will also have waitlists. But for now.... Ticks the boxes.

The appeal of the BB58 over say the non ETA BB is the case thickness, well to me anyways.

I don't think outside the forum(s) the demand is what you think it is. I'm willing to bet "we" as a community are the ones driving demand and therefore pricing.

A lot like some other hobbies I have.

No one will really know about the demand until the watches hit the stores.

It doesn't matter how long a list is until the store starts calling people on the list.

I wouldn't believe anything an AD says about the demand of these watches at this time.

I don't think it's as difficult in the US as Europe (sans new release pieces)... I'm still able to get SS pieces from my AD.

I’m not listening to Ad’s predictions. I am certainly not going to pay retail for one either. I now have my third in house and it’s an incredible watch and I saved good money buying used. That’s all I’m suggesting.

Yes pre-owned is always the best value. I think the Rolex supply choking may lead people to explore other brands.

Yes! And I think Tudor is the better buy and I believe eventually might to become harder to get just as Rolexes have.

Tudor is really nice, yet best bargain (in general) imho goes to Seiko mechanical timepieces. JMHO of course.

Well that’s a different discussion all together. Seiko are fine for what they are.

I don’t expect BB green to ever be below retail. Great watch!

Unobtainable? Lol no. Just because they’re not in the case doesn’t mean they’re not there. Even with that said, there’s still plenty of sports models in a lot of AD’s cases. If not, a Sub or GMTII can be had within weeks relatively easy IMO. Daytona or Skydweller is a different story.

More related to your original point though, I think the Pelagos, especially with Grey Market pricing, is one of the best bang for your buck watches period. It’s technically better on paper than the SubC and can be bought easily for $3500 BNIB.

I feel like the smaller rural AD's get an outsized number of pieces. I walked in to my local AD in Fort Smith, Arkansas last week and they had a Submariner, GMT and Z Blue Milgauss. A buddy of mine bought a Sea-Dweller and a Daytona a couple weeks earlier. Now to be fair, he has a great relationship there and I'm sure those never hit the display. But every time I'm in there they always seem to have a piece that seems hard to get in other places.

Yup, 100% agree. Sub and GMT are still all over. This forum is giving a grossly overexaggerative view relating to those pieces. *UK not included

I would add that there was definitely a TRF affect on me when I was at my local AD. I was a little surprised to see the GMT there. I really preferred the Z Blue (although it was close) but felt like I should grab the GMT while I could. I figured Milgausses (including the Z Blue) are relatively easy to get.

Isn't the hunt half the fun? Especially for the enthusiast?

And next to that, if you are buying pre-owned where are the waitlists? Then it seems the game is just about buying at the right price. Still prefer most Rolex models to their Tudor similar models and at current interest rates you can wear them for the same depreciation as a Swatch, Casio or Tudor.
If you like the BB the best it shouldn't be contending with another watch that you really want and for which you are settling. No point bringing waitlists into the equation.
