That's my local AD. They have one in Altrincham too. If you're NW based would you mind sharing where you sourced yours from?

I wonder what price the new 'Pepsi' will be on 'the site for finding watches' in
a year or two?

How did I guess. Robinson’s is a place where customers come last.

I’d use Preston’s in Leeds, I think they are in Bolton too, I’d call in, call and email. Andy or John is who you need. Like everyone they get calls all the time but tell them your story. I bet you get better service than your currently have!

If I were Rolex I would be looking closely at Robinson’s practices...

Manchester is the local one to me but I use Altrincham. Nothing but a positive experience from Altrincham branch but feel free to avoid them (easier for me to get watches then)

I had a good experience from Altrincham, they even posted down a Subc for me to the South and gave me a free tie, just after Brexit. Probably very different now.

Some of you must live near me (Sale) - small world.
I was totally fobbed off in the Altrincham branch when enquiring about both the BLNR (ages ago) and this year the BLRO. But I have to say I was fobbed off in a fairly pleasant manner. The Manchester branch is downright unfriendly but then they must bet multi-squillionaires in there every day whereas my annual budget for watches is only about £15k which makes me a peasant.

I think you must have just had a bad day there. I use that AD, he is very knowledgeable, very fair and sticks to his word which is more than most AD's.

Hard to get pieces only go to locals as far as I am aware. Due to it being a tourist hotspot discounts aren't really available.
You should give them a second chance........

I know one lucky guy near London who , so far this year, has got both the 43mm and the Pepsi. From the same AD.
I'm pretty fatalistic, because it doesn't really matter much at all. They're just watches after all.

I’ll throw something out there. If these auctions are truly posted by customers who were at the top of the AD list then I am surprised they are flipping them. I would guess these are the affluent big spenders for the AD (how else would they get these watches first) and given that, I doubt they need the money from immediately flipping the watch. So, I’m curious as to who these sellers might actually be (grey market dealers?).

If one of his “hot” Pepsi’s went to the “local” selling this on eBay, he will soon be getting his door chapped by Rolex and that will be an awkward conversation.

I thought it was that AD but I emailed the seller and he said that he purchased the watch in the Netherlands.

I am on about Manchester. Downright rude the two times I have been in.

Preston’s in Leeds are like chalk and cheese with these guys. I think Preston’s actually like watches.

I am close to you Uggi.
An acquaintance owns a watch dealers in Hale.

And it was me who tipped AK797 off about the Sub in Robinsons.

We weren't overly impressed with them. Ended up going elsewhere for last 2 watches. But the last one was 2016.

No idea what it's like now, as everywhere is difficult.

I got my BLNR in Chester. They wer really helpful.

You should try Mappin and Webb across the road and you will think DMR Manchester is the best AD ever!

I was in an AD in London on Thursday morning and when I asked about the new DSSD James Cameron he was pretty confident that he could arrange that quite quickly as he said he couldn’t recall a single customer enquiring about one. So let’s see how that plays out

He was a bit of a patronising twerp. Which I can stomach. But telling me I need to buy 7 undesirable pieces from him in order to be considered for a SkyD clogged my bulls*#t filter immediately.

I'm going to call in at Preston and Chester and also the one in Nantwich just to see if any of them restore my faith. I don't mind if they don't have the watch as long as they are honest and respectful about it. I don't buy this "you need to purchase other stuff you aren't enquiring about before we'll consider selling you the watch you are enquiring about" bollox. That's desperate.

That would be an opening bid of $19,900 - sounds horrendous.
