Looks like my emails did the trick. Rolex reached out to me and they are going to discount the full service. The quick response and acknowledgment of the issue has me satisfied. On to the next piece :)

Any idea when the new spring was introduced? I have a Explorer II with the 3186 movement that was serviced in late 2016, was the updated spring already in service at that point? |

Looks like you weren't speaking for Rolex with the 'too bad'.

I was given a 40% discount. They also offered to service just the movement for free but I opted to get the full service because the GMT is my daily. Thanks for info everyone. |

Just curious, I picked up my brand new BLNR in May
2018. Has this problem been resolved or will I have to wait for problems or service ?

One is just the movement, with new gaskets I suppose but no polishing, the other is movement, gaskets and polishing.

I had a similar issue with my 216570 Exp II with a 3187 movement. The only difference between a 3187 and 3186 is the size of the main plate (larger for the larger case and dial), and a larger date wheel to accompany the larger dial. The spring was replaced at service with no issues.
I have more info on this at https://www.minus4plus6.com/216570.php#service -Sheldon

I sold a V Serial GMTIIc to a friend and he just had that issue, the hand date started ratating freely when adjusted and then it wouldn't move.
Took it in for service and yes, they will not charge for the part, but still... Understand things go wrong from time to time, but something so simple happening to Rolex. Other higher end brands get flamed when they have issues, why does Rolex get a free pass?

I usually hang out on the general discussion forum...then I come here and read about this issue and start to sweat. I also just purchased a BLNR and was happy to see that the issue has been addressed. Your knowledge is appreciated! Now I will head back to the general forum so I don’t find more issues with my timepieces. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
