I had some issues with the Sub Date I purchased in September. It started running at -2 which I thought ok. After two weeks it dropped to a dizzying -5. Several weeks later it settled down at -4.5.

I could see it wasn't going to get any better so I popped over the the Rolex Service Centre just off Picadilly in London. I had great service. The white coated gentleman I gave my watch to looked concerned, just as any Doctor would

He told me to sit down in the plush waiting area while he looked at my watch. 20 minutes later he returned, saying he had regulated it and it was now running at +2. He could not say what had caused it to go out - "just one of those things" he said.

Well he was wrong - after monitoring it for two weeks it's running at just under +1.5.

So I am delighted and at last I can see why these watches have such a great reputation for accuracy.

Funnily enough the RSC technician did not ask to see my warranty card

If you are sitting on the fence about getting your watch regulated I say go for it

Thanks Toph. Yes, I think its nice to have it running a little fast. You know then that the real time is going to catch up with it !!

Glad you are now happy David RSC London are very good like you say regulate while you wait. They did my SD a few years back when I came back to the UK after many months in Indonesia timing went to - 13 seconds a day.Sorted while I waited did not even ask to see any papers.

The techs are all dressed in white overalls and all staff are given a watch after 12 months service.

In the waiting area & in the toilet they used to have Rolex ashtrays until the inevitable happened !!!! That's right , they banned smoking !!

Glad the experience was positive. My recently purchased Sub LV developed a minor problem last night when I adjusted the time, pushed the crown back in and the second hand failed to move again for at least a couple of mins. All seems fine now but taking it to RSC in London on Friday for a quick check and regulation. Although I wished this problem hadn't I'm almost kinda looking forward to going...is that sad??

Thanks all for your comments. It was great just to experience the RSC - a realy beautiful enviroment.

I am of to the Far East on Friday for 3 weeks. Its good to know that during that 3 week period period, when I will be out of my usual routine and not setting my watch, it will only loose 30 seconds. Pretty astonishing for a bunch of mechanical cogs and wheels.
