Thoughts on this 6565

Hi all!

I found this piece today and wanted to learn more about it. The case is stamped Brevet 6565 and serial number 84XXX.

I've taken a brief look around and haven't seen another 6565 with this particular dial, with the depth rating in red. Also, most sources I have seen place this serial number sequence at somewhere around 1947, which seems early for the 6565. Haven't had a chance to take it to a watchmaker to open, but I imagine it will be a 1030 inside.

It will need some work, specifically crown/tube as the threads are stripped, but otherwise it is running and keeps decent time. Will have to track down a strap for it, or maybe a 19mm oyster bracelet.

You are missing a digit in the serial, should be 6 digits and based off of the style of hands and dial, I would put it closer to late 1950s to early 1960s. I have seen the depth rating before, its a neat feature. Maybe its the picture but the ends of the lugs look chewed up!

I was thinking I missed a digit, but after looking with a loupe, it is clearly a 5 digit serial number, based on the way the 3rd digit is centered between the lugs.

Yes, sad about the lugs, it was fitted with a monstrosity of a bracelet, and shame that over the years the end links chewed the lugs up.
