Absolutely, I did NOT Report. But, this IS/Was a fraudulent listing as I was notified by eBay that the account associated with the listing had been Hi-Jacked. It was the ridiculously low price that made me suspicious.

If fraudulent no issues here. Just be sure as I have noticed with older watches and older bands especially you need to do some more research. Rolex has done just about everything over the years, things like gold plate and bands made all over the world. Just because you have not seen it, does not always mean it’s fake, just respect sellers rights too, is what I am saying cheers

I agree with David here, act with caution.
You stated "pip" (lumed pearl dot) looked fake

also
If you did NOT report it why (how) did eBay contact you about the account?

This is what I have been trying to get across. If you are going to question authenticity then you should be an expert and speak with authority. Not "liking" something is no excuse for interfering with a sale.

Raising it here is not interfering with an auction
We all benefit from people reporting here, so we can evaluate and decide

Lets not put people off, just ensure we only "report" true fakes

I messaged the "seller" with a question about the watch. When ebay investigated the Hi-Jacked account (reported by the legitimate account holder, I guess) they contacted respondents to the fraudulent listing and recommended no further contact with that account until they had restored the integrity of the account.

You never reported anything to eBay, but you wrote to seller? What exactly did you tell seller? "pip looks wrong"?

Then ebay contacts you?

You lost me

Anyway - thanks

Here's the last response I got,

Hello James,

Thank you for taking the time to contact eBay Customer Service regarding the Account Security Communication Partner Warning.

I understand that you receive multiple emails regarding account security and that you’re concerned about the listings involved as well on the member eBay members, allow me to help you with that.

Upon checking your account under “*****”, there are no problems with your account at this time. We sent you the email to warn you about responding to emails from multiple members namely “giantynr”, “feliwisniewsk0”, and “lhuck1990” that you had in contact with recently for a reason that their account was compromised.

For now, we suggest that you treat emails from these members mentioned with caution and don't respond if you hear from them again.

Rest assured that all listings linked with the members mentioned was removed on the site so other interested buyers will not be a victim.

To know more about avoiding fraud sellers, you may refer to the link below:

https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/res...=DEFAULT_BUYER

I trust that this information will help you answer your questions about the warning email you received from us. Should you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Thank you for choosing eBay and you may have a wonderful day ahead!

Kind regards,

Rachel D.

So you DID report the seller - you contacted ebay! And nothing was wrong!

AS know, ebay ONLY responds directly not to a basic PM recieved to a seller.

Anyway - I am out of this one

This is one of the exchanges I had with one of the scammers using the Hi-Jacked account(s). I was suspicious and was "working" the seller a bit....

New message: Ok just updated it

Need to amend your listing. Your Perfect eBay rating could be at risk. This Watch Is NOT New.
giantynr:

Listing it for my uncle. I don’t know anything about watches tbh
Your previous message

If it's NEW, why is it all scratched up?
