GMT back from RSC

Hi all,

Just wanted to share my experience with you all.

My GMT LN is about 7 years old and started to develop a squeeky rotor sounds. Also wouldn't hold charge as stopped running in about 5 hours off the wrist.

So popped into my AD to have a quick check and they sent to RSC (I'm assuming in London as I'm in Ireland but never confirmed..).

So RSC contacted my AD and advised a full service and new crown and was quoted as a €835 job but my AD reduced to €720 to me as I have a good relationship with them (still expensive though I thought!).

So after nearly exactly 8 weeks, I collect her today and here's some what I received back,

1. It came in this big plastic white box that I don't remember ever seeing.
2. It come stickered with the stipe patter on both sides and normal sticker on case back
3. Comes with a service card with serial, date of service, country code. Also indicating on back of 2 year guarantee. Also comes with a service booklet.
4. My AD informed me that Rolex don't give the green puches anymore or at least they haven't received one in months so they provdided me with one of their own. Pretty sure it came in the coffin box but my AD gave me pouch as they thought looked nicer.
5. I asked for no polish and indeed RSC complied.

Really chuffed having her back running smoothly and have piece of mind Rolex did their magic on it even for the high price!

Enjoy the pics below!

That’s awesome! Can’t go wrong with sending the watch back to the RSC.

You know, we in the States really don’t use the word “chuffed”. May I respectfully suggest that some of you, my Rolex brothers, interject the word into your vernacular every so often just to keep it alive.

I had two (SD and Milgauss) back from RSC Beverly Hills in August, and each came in green service pouch (larger pouch that holds the 44mm size watches), so strange they didn't send you one.

Did this big after sale box was only meant for shipping to your AD or could you keep it?

That’s great. It always fantastic to receive one’s old watch back with a new lease of life. Ready to be used and possibly abused for the next decade at least. Enjoy!

It looks wonderful! I can see why you didn’t get it polished. It didn’t need it. It still looks like new. Enjoy the return of your friend!

So when they do a service.....does the cost depend on what's needed? Or does normally the cost include ANYTHING that they might catch?

There is a base service which include all the parts that are normally replaced eg. gaskets etc. during service and then whatever else they find that needs replacing is on top, in my case, the crown needed replacing so was extra.

At less than 10 Euro per month in maintenance cost I think it's fair considering the 7 year use. Peace of mind and quality of service. RSC is up there with the best in terms of putting things right in case something goes wrong.
