Not a bad trade. You’d do better if you sold privately though.

I wouldnt. I would sell separately and buy the DD40.
You'd get more money selling each separate. |

I would not. Pricewise it is a fair deal, combowise you have much better one then just a WG DD.

The numbers work out. The two watches list for about $35K and the DD for $37.5K. Financially they're a wash. Do what works best for you. I personally love that DD41 in white gold and green dial.

Personally, I like your two current watches better.......and I’m on the hunt for a DD.

Seems reasonable concidering the trade in values you'd expect to get from a dealer and the current market for the watches mentioned.
You would get more from selling your watches yourself I'd assume, how much more and how long that would take are other conciderations, and then it comes down to how much you value your time and the work involved with selling privately in relation to how easy the deal is to simply chop in your watches and walk away with the DD (which is beautiful by the way). Decisions, decisions.

If you really want that DayDate, it's worth it from a valuation standpoint. It would be hard for me to part with such a nice sport/dress pair like that however. I think you'll wind up missing the Daytona.
Can you do a trade of your DJ41 + cash and keep the Daytona? |

It is about the numbers and how much you want the DD. You are close if the DD is new with stickers and complete. If you could wait for the DD to show up pre-owned on a TS site you might get a little back. Where you will take the loss is when you move the DD, as pre-owned it will bring about 25-26.5 to a TS but you will take 5-10% less than that to do a deal. If I wanted the watch I would go get it and enjoy it.

I would do this, as I don't need/care for the Daytona, and the DD will do everything the DJ can do, plus some.

It would depend what else you have in your collection. If it’s a trade for a one and only DD, my answer is no.

Keep your Daytona.
Trade your date just 41 + cash for the day date 40 in anniversary dial. That piece is absolutely amazing. |

Too many unknowns in the equation. Are you trying to become a one-watch-guy? If so, then go for it. Why are you considering the trade--bored with the Daytona and DJ? Is the DD a grail for you? etc, etc.
As most have said, you'll do better selling on your own, but you'll also be burdened with the logistics of a private sale unless you have some buyers in mind that will make it quick. Not a show-stopper, but a consideration. In any event, good luck with the decision! |

I would trade the DJ for the DD no problem. Although I do really like that reference. The DD is on another level, though. One of the absolute best, IMO.
But 2 for 1, no. It's never worked out for me. My new favorite saying: If you have to trade a watch to get a watch, it's not the time to get a watch. And if you have to trade two...then even worse. |

I am not a fan of YG watches, regardless of the model, so I would do it based on that alone. The DD is a timeless piece and probably a little less insulated from a big drop in value. The YG Daytona screams fad, and I can see it either taking off like a rocket in value or dropping like a rock, either is possible. I would do the deal.
