Patek 6000G

Anyone know anything about this time piece?
is it a model that would be well wanted from patek??

I'd certainly be proud to have one in my collection.

It is not particularly sought after in the way that the 5712, 5960, 5980 or 5070 are though.

It doesn't seem to be as popular among the online Patek discussion participants. Sure is a beautiful watch, though. If you like it, that's all that counts.

There has been some talk here and there about the way the index markers are arranged around the dial, whether one ends up with a 6 and a 9 or two 9's, but it should be noted that the all-black dial 6000G is becoming quite collectable as it's been discontinued by Patek and is currently only produced with a two-tone dial.

A great watch in that it is a nice departure from the classic Calatrava in terms of dial design and date read-out, but retains the size and thin-ness and classic proportions. Sometimes I still wonder if I should have acquired this piece over the 5296G, but this is just a musing, as I had both watches side by side and on the wrist and I found the 6000G lovely, but too busy for my taste.

I have never seen one before.
And I have never been a fan of having the date around the outside of the watch.
It will be interesting to see if your prediction for 2009 comes true!

The model has been around at least 3-4 years. The black was stopped earlier this year... woops, almost typed 'last' year... jumped the gun a bit...

Merry Christmas.
