I think it's going to get better for us Jim. Hang in there you'll be able to get better deals later in '09 than now. I was speaking with a very reputable vintage dealer today and he doesn't see things going anywhere but down for the next six to nine months.

I should also note... I asked said couple to adopt me, but they politely declined. Too bad.

Buz you just left that Quote wide open for Bubba I agree. I think things will get worse or better. Depends on how you look at it

Agreed.

Just looking at "For sale / Want to Buy" I'm amazed... I can't believe Anastasios' NIB 16613 at 30 % off is still available; And other great deals too.

BUT, I own a retail store and I know how much things have slowed down in the past three months, as much as I would like to jump on someting for a long term investment, I hesitate... What will the next year bring? And will it only be next year, or will this downturn last several?

I am going to buy my father a watch for his birthday, not sure which one, but one the watches at the top of my list is a WG Day-Date. I emailed a well known and reputable pre-owned dealer today and asked him what he had in the way of DD's, he told me that right now they are albatrosses and he isn't stocking them.

I'm not the watch buyer/collector that many here are, but when the same watches are being listed day after day, week after week and in some cases, month after month, it seems to me that prices will continue to drop.

Nope, it's not just you Jim. I have the cash to buy, but I am going to sit on the sidelines until we are in the clear.

It's a buyer's market for almost anything just now. I suspect it may get even better for those with cash this winter.
