Never Worn Tudor 79160
Hey Guys.
I own a Tudor 79160 that was purchased brand new by my father. It has never born worn or sized. I have all of the original box, guarante and pamphlets that were sold with the watch. I did a search of Chrono24 and used ones were close to 10k. This watch is brand new. Any idea on what it is worth? Thanks for your input. |

Looks like a Tudor Big Block reference 79180 with the stainless steel bezel. Values are discouraged here but you should know prices on Chrono24 tend to be pretty high. Asking prices for these models tend to be much higher than selling prices. Verify the reference number and then check “completed/sold listings” on EBay for a fairly accurate valuation. I’m thinking $7.5-$8k if it is a 79180 as I suspect. 79160 reference tends to trade slightly higher. More pictures including the boxes and papers would be nice to see.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do with your father’s watch...doesn’t sound like it has too much sentimental value being unworn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Tend to agree. I wouldn't pay $10k for a non-exotic BB, worn or unworn, and I've had a few of them.
Asking prices are insane these days. Look at previous listings here. $4k-6.5k with the oddball from some online retailers (Crown & Caliber come to mind...their asks are usually the highest). Could you find a buyer at $10k? Maybe, eventually. It also comes down to how long you're willing to wait. Definitely a 79180 bezel. How did you arrive at the conclusion that it's a 79160? Is there a case back sticker or paperwork? That will tell. The model # is also stamped between the lugs, but on a mint unworn piece, I probably wouldn't ever remove the bracelet. This is a tough one for me. I absolutely adore the Big Block, but love to wear them. I don't know that I could wear this one though. |

Have any more pictures? The previous posts pretty much cover everything.

watch. there is a picture of what looks like the exact same watch with that number underneath it. i am reluctant to remove the bracelet. i appreciate all of the pm's on the watch. i feel that it is special for two reasons. one my dad purchased it new and never wore it. eventually was given to me after his passing. it has sat in a brand new condition for i am guessing 27 years. is there another "brand new" tudor like this out there? |

Here is a “brand new” (NOS) 79180 from about 1993 that has been worn maybe 6 times in it’s lifetime. This is also a “full set” with all warranty papers, pamphlets and tags. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

These two features go together and are a sign of an earlier 79180. Check my pics below: |

Do you have the paperwork? You say you have the guarantee. That has the model number on it. You could take it to a good watchmaker and instruct them to protect the case back at all costs to remove the bracelet and verify the model. I don't think it really matters though. A NOS 79160 vs 79180 can't make that much difference in price. And, if it somehow turned out to be a 79160, it's not like you have the NOS 79160 bezel to go with it. Although...they're out there: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Steel-Bezel...frcectupt=true |
