16610 Submariner eBay

I got a second chance offer on this. Having second thoughts on going through with it. Any help would be appreciated! It’s my first post so I can’t send a link.

eBay item # 254208930519

Thanks in advance!

looks like a NOS random serial 5 digit sub , stickers on the sides and case back

case shape looks good , with nice factory chamfer on the lugs

rehaut is hard to see with that res , but looks good out of focus

crown guards look correct for unpolished

hands are sharp , plots and triangle looks good

although there is no straight on shot , cyclops magnification and centering of the date is good

sel to lug gap looks fine

crown , on stem and on clasp look good

insert pip looks fine , scallops on the bezel also look fine

Now all that said , 5 digit submariners have been copied very well , so organising to open the case back and letting someone that knows check the movt is the only sure way, but then you need to re pressure test it for water tightness

If you don't mind, how much did they offer it to you for? More than your bid/less/same?

Here you go: 16610

As Kostas mentioned, it looks fine and some might even say "rare", being a random (8-digit) SN 16610.
However, going by the seller's most recent feedback, it looks like a hacked account. Hope the OP didn't send him any money!

Thanks! But something didn't feel right with this. So, I passed.

As for the bidding. I placed my bid. Someone appeared to bid it up $100 past by my max which was $6501. Then about 1 hour and 20 minutes after the auction ended I receive this second change offer from eBay. And I'm like how in the heck is that possible? It was too quick.

I did ask where the watch was purchased the answer I got was "UK"

So, I passed.

I am looking for a nice 16610 SEL it anyone know where I might find one.

Thanks again,
Groovy

The second chance offer is a well known attempt at keeping the scam going.

Avoid at all cost.
