Is the catalog not available online yet? Did you see any vintage Royal Oaks at the preview?

It’s a 6240. These are often put-together but some actually came like this.

Wondering too. Was it common to use oyster cases for 6240/ 6264 dials back when they were made?

The 6240 is an oyster case as it has screw down pushers. 6264 is a pump pusher model.

PN dials were very rare in 6240’s. I am guessing many 6240 PNs initially was in less expensive references like 6239. Then swapping the dial is a worth while business

My mistake thinking the 6240 isn’t a oyster, sure it has a oyster case!

Quite interesting seeing a PN non Oyster dial in an oystercase.

So you think people changed their oyster dials with PN dials to make them worth more in the past?

Some do yes. Especially with Daytonas dial swapping is very common. Not saying all are wrong but it does happen. There’s a reason why non-PN 6241 and 6264 are rarely seen. Most receive a PN dial from the less rare 6239 or 6262. Other common things are that FAP Daytonas often have perfect tropical dials. It just pays off better.

There’s plenty of examples where watches come up for auction where you could search the serial and find the watch earlier with a different configuration.

I don’t really have a problem with it. I rather see pretty watches than watches with issues. As long as the parts are ”correct” I just accept it happening. Unless I find a watch fresh I basically expect it to be touched up. That way I don’t get upset when I later realize it was.

Seems that the oystercase but no oyster dial ones are some kind of hybrids.

Only found one pic in the web of a watch like sold. So screw down pushers and non oyster dial.

Too bad I don’t speak Italian so I don’t know what they’re talking about.
