Any experiences or thoughts on the Audi Q8?

Ive owned one Audi (A7) and my experience was overall very good. I find myself looking at the new Q8 very closely. The Q7 styling just wasn't for me for whatever reason. Anyone have any experiences with the Q8 or thoughts....

I think it’s a great looking car.

I'm interested too, my wife is in need of a new ride. I sat in one on a showroom floor, very nice what they've done with the interior. Haven't test driven one yet.

Test drove it, didn't really wow me. Thought it felt a bit bland. Uninspired. I preferred the Q7 when driven back to back.

The base Porsche Cayenne drove much better then both the Q7 and Q8 for my tastes.

Had an old Q7 which never let us down and took loads of abuse but eventually felt dated. Lots of time in the new Q7 which is refined and well appointed with more interior space than old one. Considered an SQ7 which drives phenomenally well. Our dealer has a few Q8 which I think look great.
However we had a loan of a Cayenne S for a weekend and there was no looking back. Awesome machine

Wasn’t on the look out for one myself, but my brother brought his Q8 by shortly after he picked it up in early May 2019.

It’s the nicest auto I’ve ever driven. Hands down !

I've seen a few and I like it, but it does look like an expensive Ford Edge.

Why would you do this?!?!?! So mean!!! We can't get the SQ7 here in the US! I had a Q7 TDI that I loved but the settlement money was too good so I turned in back in. Would have gotten an SQ7 in a heartbeat.

Love the looks of the Q8, as many have mentioned here....inside and out. See a lot of them in LA (the other LA ) now.

I just purchased a Q7 and absolutely love it. The Q8 is also amazing but it didn’t fit the family needs. The Porsche is the same exact platform so you’re buying a badge and testies. And the platform for each of these models was built to serve the Bentley so you’re getting a masterpiece chassis IMHO.

No personal experience.

But I’ve seen a few on the road.

And they are freaking gorgeous. I think it’s potentially the nicest looking SUV out there. And it’s Audi, which means it’s tech is superior and the drive is top notch.

I like it a lot and notice and stare everytime I see it on the road. My mom was recently looking for a new car so I tried to get her to get that, but she ended up with a GLE43 Coupe instead. I personally would have went with the Q8, although I will say that my new favorite in that category would be the new Porsche Cayenne coupe.. i love that car right now

Audi makes a nice car. Leased several new ones over about 10 years. Friend sells them so I took the Q8 for a drive. Great ride, quiet and smooth. Wish they made an S or RS version as I would want a little more power and performance. I am definitely going sport SUV next car and there are many great options out there. The Porsche SUV's are truly remarkable, but IMO more bang for the buck with an AMG.

I've leased 6 AUDI's all but one (S) was under powered, two had reliability issues but they were so fun to drive. No experience with the Q but from what I've read that same money can buy you much more performance elsewhere. JMHO

Wife has one, fully loaded except for the $5k sound upgrade. She loves it. Way more quiet and smooth than the 17 X5 it replaced. Would be maybe a bit underpowered for me but gets the job done. IMO the only way to get it is loaded with the year one package. Too plain otherwise. My friend is GM of 2 Audi stores in Florida and the base models just sit. A different level of interior and tech than the Q7.

I picked up a Q7 two weeks ago. I absolutely love it. It’s by far the nicest vehicle I’ve ever owned. But if I didn’t have two young kids and a large dog I probably would have gone with the Q8. The one they had in the show room was amazing and checked every “want” box I could think of but it didn’t check nearly as many “need” boxes. But I’m always fighting the minivan battle so I’m happy with the win.

I found this article very informative when comparing them.
