Tudor; Model identification please.
Hello to all, this being my first posting from Melbourne, Australia.
I am trying to locate and buy a Rolex Tudor watch of the type which my father had received from my mother as a wedding present in 1941. It was never located following his passing hence my desire to find an identical watch for nostalgic reasons, since he had offered it to me when I was about 18 y.o however I had politely refused it as being 'too old' - such was my youthful arrogance. I recall being told it cost 12.50 Pounds when new, was gold (plated?) and of rectangular shape like a kind of so-called 'tank' style and from memory the numbers were not 'Roman' style. I remember that the watch 'face' was a honey golden color and do not remember seeing the word 'Rolex' but do recall the word 'Tudor'. One local watchmaker told me that he thought that particular watch was made only (or mainly) for British Commonwealth markets, however I do not know if that is true or not. Would anyone be able to tell me what model 'Tudor' I am referring to please? Many thanks for any assistance. Thank you |

Hi Darren, I'm sorry to say that I think it's going to be really hard for anyone to be of any help here because correct information for modern Tudors is hard enough to come by - never mind one from the 1940's.
Only advice I can give is to scour the internet and see if you can find a similar model. Good luck in your search. - Neil.
