Wearability Daytona vs Sub?
I am patiently waiting for a Daytona. I don't want anything that wears larger than my sub. Can anyone comment on what wears larger between the two. Is one more comfortable than the other? Yes, i am aware they are both 40mm but other factors come in to play. Comments on the oyster flex and SS models would be appreciated.

The Daytona is a slightly thinner and smaller watch than the Sub, It also doesn't have the cumbersome large clasp of the Subs.
Daytona is a comfortable, every-day watch, if you can get past the visibility issues with them.

The Daytona wears very small. You have no worries that it will wear larger than your Sub.

I have 6.5" wrists and the Daytona fits me better. I find it more comfortable. Like others have said, it wears smaller than a Sub. Good luck!

I’ve had many subs and Daytona’s. I have a 6.5” wrist and prefer the thinness and thinner lugs of the Daytona. Actually I prefer the 16610 over the 116610 if I had to wear a sub. Those fat lugs just don’t do it for me. I feel Rolex will phase them out eventually. Seems like they did with the new SD.

Current Daytona wears noticeably lower profile than a six digit sub, but not too much smaller in diameter, if at all. Feels just right on my 7-1/4" wrist.

I have a 6.25 inch flat wrist. I think the sub and Batman on me are as big as I should go. My wife thinks I wear small watches and the sales associates have tried to convince me to buy a skydweller and explorer ii but I dont like the way they look or feel. I am hopeful I will come up on the list soon for an SS daytona. The sales associate and I talk on the phone once a week and he asked me if I would take a black one if they got it. Hope that means I am coming up. Otherwise, I am buying the white gold daytona on the oysterflex strap.

I have pretty small wrist size and wear a sub daily, its much easier to read then most of my other watches and that is important to me.
Although I dont own a daytona, I have tried them on from time to time and always found them a bit small for my liking. |

Daytona shockingly 'petite' compared to a submariner as many don't know that the Daytona is 38.5mm and not the advertised 40. As tools said above. Tough to read. Essentially a bracelet that's a watch to be blunt. |

The Daytona is more comfortable than the modern Sub for my 6.75 inch wrist. I do prefer the wrist feeling of a non-maxi case Sub. That said, the glidelock really is king here for adjustability.
Daytona > Sub and I think Maxi case and normal case are tied due to glidelock. If you put a glidelock on a 16610 I think that would be the most comfortable. |

I wear both and Dayton wears a lot smaller than sub. I wear the SS Daytona C so can’t speak to the oyster flex. I like both the sub c and Daytona for different reasons. Enjoy!

Daytona wears much smaller than a sub (116610) and actually measures smaller than 40mm.

Daytona wears smaller than a 6 digit sub, but not a 5 digit sub. I had a Daytona for a little while till I decided that it not having a date was an issue and sold it, got a DayDate 40 instead.

The Daytona wears very comfortable, much better than Sub or Sea-Dweller. Explorer 1 wears more comfortable than Daytona.

The fit of the modern Daytona is magnificent.
The fit of the submariner is a bit clumsy by comparison. Sold my Daytona still have my sub.

Here are my two, they’re small watches compared to others I have. I’d use the word “delicate” when describing them in comparison to the professional series. The Daytona is such an awe inspiring watch to look at. I don’t honestly think any other Rolex comes remotely close. Compared to my smurf, exp II 42, SD43 etc, the Daytona just oozes class and refinement. Less utilitarian I guess.

Daytona spoiled it for me. My SubC feels very bulky and uncomfortable now. Of course, I still enjoy wearing it but Daytona just feels so right on my 6.5" wrist.

Wearability Daytona vs Sub?
Daytona will seem small compared to the Sub, but it is lovely albeit hard to read from a legibility perspective. From a “I got one and hardly else does”, that signal is loud and clear!

My WG Daytona on OF is so much more comfortable to wear on the wrist compared to my SubC. The Daytona is smaller, thinner, shorter (lug to lug) and has a much smaller clasp. The Daytona slides underneath my shirt cuff easily. I find the oysterflex strap to fit very nicely due to the wings under the strap that stabilize / center the Daytona on my wrist. I do wish the Daytona came with the glidelock clasp though.

The Daytona wears a lot more comfortable than a modern sub, 5513 or 1680 are way more comfortable than 16610 or 116610

My 116520 is more comfortable than my 16610. The weight of the head and bracelet seems more balanced. The curves of the case hug my wrist better too.
