How much should I pay? 14060m or 16610

I am looking at 2 watches currently. Never owned a Rolex. One is a 14060m 4 liner with what looks like a small nick on the outside of the dial. Asking $7,300. The other is a 16610 with Tritium dial. Asking $8,000. I see prices all over the place. Are these fair prices? Thanks.

They both seem a little high. But prices have been so crazy lately.

Too many variables to give an accurate suggestion; watch age, condition, box & papers, service history, etc.

My advice is to look at the For Sale section here and get an idea of what they are listed at. The trusted sellers here are pretty great and I'm sure would answer any questions you have.

What was your expectation on price for those pieces?

Going to need some more info, pictures would help a lot too. I wouldn't consider any watch with dial damage though. There's too many great condition watches out there to settle for one with dial damage.

For reference I bought a pretty mint box and papers 2 line 14060 in January for $6700

I don't like those prices at all. Take your time and browse the for sale subforum here to have a better idea on price/condition before making any decision.

You'd be surprised how many people take that opinion and bc of it the waiting list isn't that bad, you just need to find an AD who is relateable and not a schmuck, of course that depends on you too being of good character.

If you’re looking at NOS 14060M 4-liner, expect to pay in range of $10 to 12,500. If you want complete set and good condition, I would say around $7,000 to 8,000 is fair.

For 16610 NOS, expect to pay in range of $11 to $13,500. If you want complete set and good condition, I would say around $7,750 to $8,500 is fair.

This is just my read of market price inputs.

Premium is expected for NOS samples. The 16610 seems high considering it’s produced in way higher volume than a 4 liner 14060m.

Aside from the availability thing (already discussed) there are some people who prefer the smaller cases and non-ceramic bezels of the earlier models.

In my little perfect imaginary world, I'd have a 14060M on the newer bracelet with glidelock and "solid" links.

Go to watchrecon and search for those models. If something is sold quickly from the time of listing you can expect transactional price to be close to list price -5/10%. For me $8000 for tritium 16610 seems a little high, I bought nearly NOS V-serial (2011) for exactly same price 3 months ago, and that was in Europe where prices are higher in general.

Agreed- prices are climbing!
If you hold out you may be able to find one for less, but I’ve noticed prices going up in 2019 with not as many available.
Wish I kept mine 4 years ago. Prices have almost doubled! Not that it’s an investment, but if you want to buy it again it’s frustrating!

wish i kept my 14060M 2 liner, full kit. Traded datejust + cash for it and it was just about $5K. not gonna see that again for awhile
