Availability of NOS 16610

I am sure you could find NOS just prepare to pay for it. Unworn, complete set means it goes in the safe and doesn't see daylight until sold.

Otherwise plenty of worn 11610 subs out there and most in great condition. If I wanted as new as I could get, I would buy a pre owned, gently worn, and a complete set. Then send to RSC or rolliworks and tell them to service, polish, repair and replace anything necessary to make it like new, and wear it every day. A steel stunner. You won't be taking away value of this used watch, because too many out there.

My recommendations would be a 2002/2003 with lug holes and SEL as I think the lug holes fits the sportier look of a five digit sub. Mine is a Y series, but I think K series have lug+SEL too. Unpolished and with B+P would be nice, get a fresh service and you have a perfect sub imo

Spend 5K on an average condition used 16610 and send it for an RSC service. It’ll come back like new and more than likely outlive you. You don’t have to worry about finding a lightly used one to preserve longevity.

i just bought this 3 weeks ago. it’s a 1998 u series, last of the tritium dials. nos with b&p.
I paid $11k.

This. Rolex made hundreds of thousands of 16610’s buy one and have it serviced and it will be just as good as any new old stock at a fraction of the price.

To pile on, I would find a mint, lightly worn one over NOS. The second you put it on your wrist the NOS thing is out the window.

Lots to consider. If I were to find one that was fairly beat up (relative to NOS; think scratches, etc.), how good could I expect it to look after an RSC service? Also, that should cost around $500-$1k, correct?
