Nautilus Blue varying shades?
Hi guys,
With the Nautilus, is it just me, or does the blue shade vary? I've noticed this on the 5711/5712 in particular. I'm not referring to them appearing different in different lighting conditions, but rather them appearing slightly different when compared side by side. (For example 2 5711s or 2 5712s) Does the blue vary depending on the year/batch? If so, can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks! |

they most surely are different. I spoke with one of the reps from Patek who told me that they have 3 people that make the dials for the blue nautilus and that each of them make them a little differently and that they can actually tell who made each individual dial based on the color. Its like an artist that signs his painting!

I have a 3800 and 5980. Both dials appear greyish, but the Certificate of Origin states black.
Also, the lume on my 3800 (bought in 1998) has faded - I suppose it’s not a good idea to send it in to Patek to re-apply the lume? |

Can’t really tell tbh. Maybe to the trained eye...
This is side by side but the color difference is really from the light. |
