I would love a dual time with hidden second hour hand accompanied by a moonphase. No need for a date complication or second hand, keep it clean. A complimentary dial would be nice as well, I think the Passage de Drake dial wouldn't look right with a moonphase.

Wow - onyx dial limited to 18 pieces, I wonder are those markers sapphire? |

I don't want to drag a sales related link into this thread, but I found a gorgeous Antarctique Abyss Special Edition listed in the Toppers Pre-Owned section, but when I was looking at the gallery I noticed some oxidization / corrosion stains on the movement (I think?). Has anyone else noticed this on their watches?

That has not happened to mine. That's really odd. What material are the movement bridges made from?
I would think the base material would be more stable than typical materials. This looks like the case back was opened at one point, or the seals were not set properly and moisture got in and stayed in. I would definitely ask Topper what happened here. |

Delivered December 2020, so three year warranty is expiring imminently.
No telling who's been in there or what might have happened without an inspection. |

Agree with Mike.
A bit of clarification on my part. When i said "no worries" earlier, i mean it's not inherent in the design. But yeah, as for the used piece, could be someone let steam (or a bit of water) get in there or ??? Would want it to be looked at by authorized Czapek service. Probably nothing, yet would be best to be certain just in case.

That’s the same age as mine. As I said earlier, no sign of anything similar in my movement. Something seems to have gone awry…

Watching this brand grow has been fascinating. I’m sure that’s likely a one off case of water intrusion or we would have seen more examples. Frankly the type of people who buy these kinds of watches don’t let anything slide.

This watch was pulled from the market, and is going back to the factory for restoration.

------ ------ Color me a True Believer, sure, yet as GB_man says, we're all watching carefully and so far Czapek has never let us down (other than long waits for delivery when the entire friggen world is forced to shut down). So, hmmm, which color rubber strap to wear today? Or maybe the bracelet? Hmmm, this is my personal Czapek dilemma, this is my problem....

Does anyone have pics of the 40.5 glacier blue antartique on a light blue and / or dark blue strap? Deciding between the two… thanks in advance!

Anyone else on the waiting list also losing the interest in the watch after so long?
I pre-ordered mine on April 2022 with an ETA of 13 months or less. It's been 20 months and I have no expected delivery date. At this point, I'm considering either giving up this watch or buying from grey dealers (price is pretty much the same, I just didn't do it because I ordered the 38.5mm version and I can only find the 40.5mm online). |
