Yeah the email I received was just touting two recent complicated models, and teasing some new model that will take us into “uncharted territory.”

Yup, but I think everyone on their email list got the same email. I suspect it means there are pieces still left to sell.

I just got the platinum dato and it is slightly top heavy with the tang buckle but with the single tange deployant it is better balanced. Not sure why they don't make that standard.

$$$

I agree it’s annoying that Lange doesn’t include a deployant with their higher end watches.

As far as I am aware, they haven't delivered a single 1815 PT Rattrapante yet. But there was one in the boutique available for purchase? Should I fly over?

Click the "Historic Data" tab or the "Annual Prices" tab on this spreadsheet to see pricing (in USD). It'll be updated with the new pricing in the coming weeks.

They sometimes do, though gone are the days when you could negotiate that stuff :) Depended on the model. Terraluna, Lange 31, Triple Split, certain Handwerkskunst models, and others here and there included deployants. There was also that really weird brief period (maybe 5 years ago?) in the US market where every Lange above a certain price point (maybe a Lange 1?) included a deployant instead of a tang buckle. That lasted about a year. Or maybe it was just a fever dream.

It's possible I got the model wrong but I'm about 90% sure it was some type of rattrapante... not sure how many models of these Lange has. If you're interested maybe try giving the boutique a call to ask.

I find Lange look very color rich and are clear winners in photographs... but perhaps too dark / moody in real life without stage lighting.

I prefer the traditional Swiss trinity black polish screws to the blued (red white and blue motif) and the shiny bright white bridges myself... in real life.

I'm thankful we have so many options at this level of watchmaking.
bad typo, 5170g, direct competitor to the 1815 chrono

Oh wow, that poor man's 5370 looks pretty damn good to me

I like them both. You had a hell of a decision to make.

discontinued. i don't think i like breguet numerals as much, also the movement on the lange just pops, it's nicer to look at.
plus the lange price is way more attractive

Ha...we could all learn a thing or two about comfort and style from our grandpas. This watch is the epitome of both.

The strap is OEM from ALS. For the color, the tag said shiny blue. For the make, I was under the impression that JR makes their straps, but I may be wrong.

The color of this strap isn’t perfectly represented in the pic; it’s not as bright IRL.

It pains me to say this but I agree... the 10-20% price increase by end of March will kill a lot of the demand for ALS. No way would I have considered my 191.039 if it becomes 70k AUD, I'd be looking at PP dress, AP Codes, or Moser in PM.
I hope I am wrong, hopefully they generate some hype from W&W '23 and bring some more eyeballs to the brand. If it's a movement update for Saxonia/1815 time only, I'd be throwing my arms up in the air (not in the good way).
I think most collectors will consider ALS at some point, but the typical retail pathway given the price increase might become:
1. Rolex
2. PP Dress / AP Code
3. True indie w/ haute horology (Moser)
4. ALS ( best value in preowned)
