Rolex, AP and others have totally sucked any fun out of collecting. I used to look forward to Basel. This year, I doubt I’ll even check in that morning to see what’s been revealed.
Exactly!

I am on vacation next week and will be happy to let the faux hype and wailing pass.

heard an unsubstantiated rumor that: Explorer II gets ceramic bezel (not a stretch), a vintage inspired milgauss and a rose gold sub.

everything except the vintage i could see. Especially since tudor has been doing a very good job on the retro vibe. IMO that isn't Rolex.

Hate the idea of a ceramic exp II... but its probably inevitable

Yes....you also could have read these ideas on several speculative threads on this forum (especially the 1st two). :-)

Didn’t say it was too hard or too easy to figure out.

Just said it was boring.

Last years and the year before were better teasers imo.

This one leaves something to be desired.

Comprende?

I'm thinking redesigned explorer 2 case with ceramic bezel and oysterflex.

last year almost everyone guessed GMT on a Jubilee as that was obvious. Pepsi (or coke) was the also obvious choice. its more open for interpretation this year.

my thinking is quite the opposite, the current ceramic and EXP just don't go together, unless it is totally different type of ceramic. Although few actually use the function part of ROLEX professional models, at least ROLEX has always been trying they are designed for that purpose, not over engineered.

A 1019 redo would be awesome, but this has lume plots and mercedes hands so that is out.

yes, but this year is not an anniversary year for the EXP. Of coarse if Rolex wants it can always come up with something anniversary

Isn't the lume on the hands of a GMT wider than a Sub? The lume in the teaser seems quite wide which should rule out a Sub. The pic of the zoomed in shot someon eprovided earlier also clearly shows a 4th hand at 5:30 imo.

I would rule out ExpII since the "Explorer II" writing is absent under the "Oyster Perpetual Date", unless Rolex deliberately edited it out so not to spoil it so easily (or moved it to the bottom which I find highly unlikely given the heritage).

I'm guessing a Coke SS GMT on Oyster bracelet, which would make sense given the popularity of the Pepsi GMT.

Yawn. They should spend more time making sure AD cases actually have watches.

After the re launch forget about it. thats how nuts the demand is. Nothing to do with the watch. 11k views in 5 hours based on a teaser tells you all your need to know about that.
I have no idea what that means.

Missing the point again. Forget the guessing and looking for clues.

Just the teaser, on its own, is lackluster in my opinion.

That is all.

meaning if it is indeed a YM, then you shall run not walk to your AD and buy the current version before it is too late, I guess.

I would be happy with

an Everose Sub on bracelet in the same size as the SD 43mm. It would have been even better if it came as a package deal with an Oysterflex strap as well

you are tired of the scarcity except that watch currently isn't scarce. But it will be now.

Its the idea that people are not buying it because its not hot, as soon as it is hot then everyone wants it and then complains its impossible to acquire.

If you want a YM and this is a YM then might as well buy a YM now not after the announcement, because that one will be impossible to get. weird right?

Wouldn’t mind seeing a Rose Gold Sub. But what color would the dial and bezel be??

Anything but chocolate pls. I know Rolex loves to pair RG and Choco.

RG with Green would be amazing f.
