Nope... Not a chance.

I'm not sure but I believe the old Bell 212 was/is certified for flying solo VFR on the left seat but all the other helicopters, right seat and only flying solo under VFR.

But flying Offshore, it's mandatory both Pilot/Copilot even under VFR.

767... Nice, but I still miss the lower and more fun flying.

I can appreciate the type of flying you do. Need to be on your "A" game all of the time.

767... One of my favorites. I had once the whole Ground School for the 300ER
But just for fun and all the material was given to me by a friend who used to fly both the 767 and MD-11.

But, flying offshore with those heavy helicopters can be quite boring sometimes. All the avionics and system are automated as any Airbus or Boeing so after taking off and 200FT RA, it's hands off and AP on

I had my recurrent sim-ride last week, and this subject came up. 25 years from now when we are semi-retired and talking stories over a favorite beverage, the younger generation will be like... Wow! You guys even got to fly the aircraft. Cool!

In the next 25-30 years, they will start to go totally automated. Pilots will just be there to monitor in case something goes wrong, and to feed the dog. Another generation after this, 50-75 years from now, there won't be any pilots.

Glad I won't be around to see it...

100 years from now: Hello everyone from the flight deck. Please sit back and enjoy todays totally automated flight. Rest assured that absolutely nothing can can can can can can...

Hahaha ! Exactly ! In many points, I already think we are already living through this "miracle". I'm not an old school but I have lived to see some old stuff. First passenger plane I had a small trip was a Fokker F-27 Friendship !! I was 9 and will never forget that !! But a HAL9000 wouldn't be bad after all !

Regarding the watches, I hope and believe that except for technology and improvement, nothing goes too much beyond with a very futuristic tendency ! Great example is Rolex itself, doesn't change much throughout the years !!

And this last one, unfortunately I didn't have my favorite (BLNR) but the excuse with my IWC to post here is because I was having my 2013 recurrent sim-ride for the EC-225 in Aberdeen, UK. Funny thing is because at that same trip, I bought my Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Ceramic. Was aiming for the Sub or GMT II though
