...well, spent the day at the WWT show...

...with Fred (Latrodectus), Mike B and his mom, Marie (mcl), met with Blaine Mattison who had a table set-up, met with "theken" who also had a table set-up.

...we just ate a great supper together.

...and, I think we are all headed BACK to the show for a "presentation/lecture" from one of our own-Dell Deaton!

...more later!

Stan.

...okeeedokeeeee...

...JUST returned from meeting and listening to Mr. Dell Deaton about the Bond series of watches and respective display that Dell had set-up at the NATIONAL Watch and Clock Museum.

...I introduced myself to Dell, as we had never met previously, and only communicated thru TRF.

...it just so happens that Dell purchased a 7206 from me for his personal Explorer that was also on exhibit with the original "Flemming Explorer". Dell actually met with the Flemming family and brought the watch and other material to the US just LAST month. The watches/exhibit will be on tour for somewhere in the neighborhood of a year.

...as it turned out, Dell and his gracious wife gave myself, Fred (Latrodectus), and Mike B a personal tour thru the exhibit with many of the stories/history associated with the various watches in the exhibit!

...unfortunately, NO PIC's allowed in that particular exhibit...

...on Friday, we hope to return to the museum and view the remaining watches and clocks that we did not have time to see.

...MORE to follow!

Stan/Fred/Mike B

Good day everyone!
We all had a GREAT time at the dinner this evening ! Meeting everyone was quite a pleasure. I haven't laughed this hard in such a long time, it's like we were all family. I had such a GREAT time everyone kept talking until the wee hours into the night hahaha.
The food was great, and a BIG thank you to Dan (unclesally) for setting this up !!

Right now we're all back at the hotel at 12:30AM (Fred is sitting next to me as I type this lol), and have been spending all night talking watches, jobs, vacation spots, and just everything in general. I can't say again what a great time we've all had this week. It's just simply amazing. I now can't wait for the next GTG lol :) :)

Tomorrow AM we have one "last breakfast" before everyone heads their separate ways.
For those of you that I will not see tomorrow, have a safe travels back home, and talk to everyone soon!!

Mike

Fantastic Time At the NAWCC NATIONAL in YORK, PA.

Hey Craig! Well, the NAWCC National Convention is over, and I for one had a wonderful time. I got together with a whole group of wonderful people and we partied at Texas Roadhouse and then at a wonderful restaurant at the Left Bank. I know Fred, Stan, Mike, and Linda had a great time over at the National Watch and Clock Museum in Columbia, Pa., but I will let them tell more about their adventures when they get home and online. I cannot tell you what a fine, high energy time this was for all of us. We talked watches, and more importantly, about life, the universed and everything.
I only had my iPhone, so here's some primitive pics.

Best,
Dan

(much better ones to come tomorrow from Fred)

These first pics are all from Blaine Mattison's wonderful collection at the NAWCC....what a great guy!

and Finally(for me), the Show...which was expensive as hell to get into! $60.00 per year membership PLUS, $70.00 admittance fee for the Show, and if you want to go early, there's even more money to be paid...but the show was huge, security good, dealers pretty friendly, lots of 'dealer talk'..and since I know some, including our good friend Blaine Mattison(pictured here with some of his great watches)(who also gave me a 1/2 long instruction session on vintage rolexes and dials, as well as practical tips on what to buy at what price point) it was fun. One dealer friend of mine wore his original Milgauss one day, and a gold Daytona the next....total value of the two watches? About $200,000.00......... why can't they be MINE?

Anyway, here's the pics:

Ya, Fred took well over 300 pictures of the event (well, of the 4 days we were there ).

We got back to CT around 6:30PM or so (we left at 11:30 or so, and ended up getting stuck in New York traffic merging onto I-95 for about 2 hours. It was the WORST road congestion I have EVER been in, EVER !!! I couldn't WAIT to get out of that city (no offence to any NY'ers but I could NEVER drive a car in that city everyday). The traffic back-up's getting on, off and past the GW bridge was simply unbearable !
I'll be getting my pictures up at some point tomorrow, as for right now I'm hitting the bed, cause I'm beat :)

Mike:
I can relate. I've been going to and from NYC for the last month or so on business, at least 7 trips, and I now always take the train....I realize that may not have been an option for you, but the traffic build ups around Manhattan have become truly ugly over the last year or so. SO, get some sleep. We all enjoyed seeing you and Linda, and you've earned a good night's rest. Talk at ya later!
Best,
Dan

Nobody put up the group wrist shot yet. I think Fred probably got a better pic of this when he checks in. Some scrawny old curmudgen brought a rectangular watch to a Rolex-fest.
