I finally joined! I love it. The choice of dials was difficult, but the baby blue second hand really jumped out.

Blue color from Rubber B matches really well the blue dial on the YM :

I was perfectly happy with my rhodium dial until I saw that damn strap of yours. I must have that exact rig! Should I trade mine in, or just buy another?

You can actually go to Rolex and ask them to swap the rhodium for the blue dial! At least that’s what they told me what I purchased my 126622

Agreed, you can. Bear in mind they'll charge you with the cost of an overhaul. I'm planning on swapping my pt dial ref 116622 for blue when the service is due. I get to keep the original dial as spare.

Haha thank you. I actually tried to add Smarty end links as well but the bolstering on the top of the alligator leather was too thick.

I was quoted 530 euros new dial included, but that was a few years ago. I'm sure price has gone up since, although most probably fairly reasonable.

The SS rhodium and dark blue dials are both stunning.
I was hoping for the big launch of yesterday to include the blue bezel we have seen in the rumor but unfortunately it didn't came with the rest.
I do agree with you that the yacht masters are under appreciated but so beautiful and I'm starting to think that my Panerai Tuttonero could end in a trading for one of the 2 SS YM40 mentioned above... can't wait

I finally purchased a 37mm Rhodium Yachtmaster after going through the normal online/local search and research (that could be analysis paralysis). It all sparked up after seeing a 37mm rosegold YM at the AD when I came in looking for a Datejust.

While I debated getting 40mm, I prefer smaller watches and the 37mm just has the right proportions for me. It is quite a bit heavier than my OP, so that took some getting used to. Plus it's really the only bezel sports watch than comes smaller than 40mm. I fell in love with it because of the combo of the bezel, the date feature, and the iconic block shaped indicies. The polished/brushed stainless bracelet gives it a sharp understated look. While never say never, the datejust looked too blingy in comparison.

Interestingly, I could have purchased the 37mm rosegold for just a little bit more. The AD had two in stock and wanted to deal. But even from pictures alone (thank you forum), I knew the Rhodium was the right match, I could feel it in my bones.

When Rolex reworked the dial/bezel/bracelet combinations on this watch, I think they really hit it out of the ballpark, particularly for the stainless and stainless/rosegold watches. You can't make a bad pick, it's just preference.

I queried all the local ADs in town for stainless YMs, and there was one 37mm rhodium available, and one 40mm black dial rosegold/stainless. So even though this is not a super popular sports model, it might be cooking under the radar because it looks so good in person, particularly demand for the 40mm model. I love the 37mm size, which is a good thing because that's all that was available in rhodium. The AD called me because it showed up for them two weeks after I asked about it.

In the world of secondary markets, demand and price is driven by quality and aesthetics. This watch has both with that 'it' factor. The only reason I didn't buy one used was because the price isn't dropping enough to make it worthwhile. Bottom line, this is a fabulous watch. Be patient, and buy the one you really want.
