Ferrari pooped again...at least I have Alonso to cheer for! Those RB look strong again. The green machine AM is very impressive so far. Norris and Piastri are going to have a tough year.

I thought Alonso was fabulous, he gave Hamilton a masterclass on overtaking skills. For me, Alonso was the "man of the match."

Nico Rosberg said it best during the pre-race coverage: "Fernando is a gladiator."
Fantastic drive by Alonso and so glad Lance didn't puncture his tire at the start. He was clearly in full tire management mod all race until he got his last set of tires and then unleashed passing both Hamilton and Sainz. Would have been interesting to see if he could have caught Leclerc if he didn't DNF. Besides my driver of the day being Alonso, my honorable mention is Pierre Gasly. Scored points in his maiden debut with a team that doesn't have a bull on the side and towards the end had fastest lap of the race (unsure if he ended with that accolade). Logan Sargeant placing 12th in his first F1 drive is my 3rd choice for driver of the day. Red Bull's look so good that it may be a 3 way fight between Ferrari, Aston Martin and Mercedes for 2nd in the constructors title. |

ALO + a good car = great race for AM.
Nice opener. But MB is in a funk. Toto telling the paddock he missed the mark in design. Alpine seems worse for loss of ALO. Don’t know how Otmar caught the Ferrari bug of self-inflicted unforced errors. OCO saying “I’ve always done it that way…”? Simplest new rule for 2023 is no funny business in the starting location. They failed to tell OCO about new gridding rule methinks. Liked to see SAR do well and hope he can get the most out of the package Williams has. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I love watching Alonso race. That was quite the treat. The guy just makes every car better. It's astonishing. He is my favorite driver for a reason and I hope he is in the field till he is 60.

It's exciting to see another team with a decent shot at the title...MB seems to be off again this year, so my guess will be RB as champs, Ferrari 2nd and AM 3rd.

I read last week that the FIA were going to allow his nose ring because it was permanently in his nose or something similar. They must be talking about a different type of ring around a different part of his body.

Wait... a..... minute...... Hmmm, how to ask this.....
Is the piercing above his knees yet below his waist? Like a ladder?

The rules are the same this year. A medical form filed this year essentially cited the risk of permanent damage if he had to manipulate the nose piercing many times each day of an event to remove it and then replace it.

With Leclerc and Verstappen starting from the back and Alonso from the front row all ingredients are there for some good old fashioned motor sports tomorrow.
Hope Alonso pulls a stunt

Agree. Alonso is so close he can smell another victory. It's going to be interesting seeing LEC and VER make their way forward from the aft. Safety cars and red flags will have a deciding factor tomorrow.

If Alonso would be able to take the lead after the start... wow, that could be a race of the decade
