I read in a thread someones father was a chef and the watch fell in frying oil.... just removed it and washed it.. nothing happened...

What a stupid question... You can't deep-fry a Rolex.....
They end up WAY too crunchy... Everybody knows you have to microwave them! |

Great answers. It may be a stupid question... but all of you are wondering what would truly happen.
It was just a question that popped into my head. I was thinking about a restaurant that will deep fry whatever you bring in, and they said somethings just don't deep fry, such as "Peeps" because they fall apart. That made me think of my watch for some reason....

Why didn't the OP specify if deep frying the watch has to be done whilst wearing it . Sometimes I wonder if it wouldn't be better that TRF charges a small fee for posting a new thread , me might reduce the most ridiculous ones a bit that way ?

Ha, your opinion, and no worries. Let me clarify my question on this thread, so that perhaps a serious answer can be made.
In past threads we have enjoyed seeing the depths our Rolex's will go, and what abuse they will take. This is simply another question seeing how a Rolex will hold up to extreme conditions. Yes, its funny that a deep fryer is in question, but seriously, with those types of extreme temperatures and oil, I'm truly curious as to how the Rolex would hold up. Would the crystal melt? would the metal deform? would the gaskets blow? If I could think of a nother situaition with the same temperatures involved, I would substitute that instead of fryer. I'm sorry if this thread seems like a joke, but I'm just another Rolex owner truly curious how the watch would hold up. Thank you,
