I've got a new pen on the way myself, from Switzerland only thing is I didn't so much buy the pen for the pen itself, but I bought it for the box Anyway time will reveal all.

However, I really like your new pen, I appreciate the detail so much more after your enlightening review.

The sterling silver does not all appear to be over done.

Looks like John Mottishaw did it again

Oh boy did he ever do it again! The more I deal with John the more I respect him and his company. Whoever gets the 149 is in for a treat as John test's all the pens he sells including the used ones, as the tiny droplets of water in the cartridge converter in mine attest! To those who do not know much about John the statement I just made is akin to having the technical guys at Ferrari HQ give your car a tune up!
I can't wait to see what is arriving from Switzerland!

I enjoyed reading this thread even more the second and third time around!

Congratulations!!!

Richard, it really was you that fully got me interested in Italian pens. I had always wanted a Montegrappa but your enthusiasm really tipped me over the edge. It was then whilst attending a vancouver pen club meet that I met Glenn Markus of glenns pen page fame and it was then a fait a complete!

I love my Nakaya but it is a very different beast and philoshophy and I am so glad I have both the Nakaya and Montegrappa to appreciate the different ways the artisans can make a pen be a joy to behold and use. I sure hope you get your Nakaya one day!

Thank you Jim, it truly does glide across! There is something else as well and it is often mentioned in all things Italian (I lived there for a short while and it is obvious the people there embrace this to the full!)..Passion. It's like writing with a Verdi Opera!
