Great story Padi. Thanks for sharing. I believe mine has a porcelain dial. I also picked up a vintage (circa 1950's) boys size Tudor with sub seconds at a "clean-up" sale of an old jeweller for A$5 about 5 years ago. Crystal was so badly scratched, you could hardly see the dial. It was the crown that gave it away. Also picked up a mens Tudor Aqua (circa 1960's) from an Antique store for A$2. I basically threw them the money and vanished!!! The dial, hands and movement are flawless. Why couldn't they be Comex, PN Daytona or MilSub??????????? Still, I shouldn't be so ungrateful. John. |
