I enjoy the tradition and heritage.

The bracelet on my TT GMTIIC is fantastic.

I enjoy the look of the ceramic.

Always wanted one since I was a kid (I imagined being Bond or a world traveler or undersea explorer)

Now I have one on my wrist and I am satisfied.

Rolex would not be where it's at as a world leader in the Luxury Watch market if they made rubbish.

The 16710 is a good choice and set the world stage for a dual-time wristwatch.. Test pilots like Chuck Yeager and NASA Astronauts like Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong chose this watch as their personal time-piece...

They wouldn't be trusting their careers on junk....

Of all the things I have owned in my life, my rolex 1680 is one of just a few that has performed flawlessly and without problems for over 30 years.

The best thing about a Rolex is that it's not just a watch...It's a ROLEX watch. Big difference. It's bulletproof, timeless and in a pinch it could be a "bank account on your wrist". Honestly there is nothing like strapping a Rolex to your wrist...or two...or three....ahhhh you get the picture!

I like the fact that, if taken care of, you can pass your Rolex down generations. Also IMO every Rolex is versatile in that they can be dressed down or dressed up.

The GMT II Ceramic has been out for about three years. Check out the Rolex web site or visit an authorized dealer.

An older model has the same quality as the newer ones. I certainly would not use the term "rubbish" to describe any Rolex. Especially on this forum.

My favorite things about Rolex-
The legendary history, accuracy, their in-house movements, build quality, style, durability, reliability, the bracelets- and their comfort on my wrist, the Oyster case, the ROLEX brand, exclusivity, rarity, the dial options, readability, the many options with or without a date, availability in precious metals.... oh and of course the Meteorite Dial on the Daytona!

Hi

It is the identity of the oyster-case that makes it the most popular watch in the world.

All improvements done to it over the years are subtle. From a distance, unmistakably it must be a Rolex. It is just like a Mercedes-Benz with its legendary upright grille. No comment about the new Benz, though.

The Cellini, though still a Rolex, is a dying breed and not worth a second glance.

Thank you.

Well...without reading any of the previous posts, and right off the top of my head.....

1. It's a status symbol.
2. It's a very finely made swiss watch. It's movement is well built and offers years of reliable operation.
3. It's made with the most up-to-date and efficient assembly line machines and robots (that nobody else has) which reduce the chance of mistakes.
4. It's a collectible item with a researchable history which brings even more enjoyment.
5. It's an interesting thing which allows for human interaction and discussion. (Forums, shows, auctions, etc.)
6. It holds its monetary value well.
7. It has official service centers that provide exceptional service (compared to others)
8. It has a band of well respected ambassadors (Renee Fleming, Roger Federer, Jackie Stewart, etc.)
9. It is easy recognized by the majority of the population (outside its $$$$ status)

The way it feels, and the way it makes me feel.

And I don't have to stop at every watch retailer to dream anymore :-)

Rolex is the standard of quality and design to which all other watches valuated and rated. As for the cost, considering the durability of a Rolex, it is a very low cost purchase due to the longevity and its eternal design.
