Thanks for the info! Seems like there are different measurements on the Internet but I trust yours

Unfortunately no Carl...Only the "cheaper" RM35 Nadal

With weight of movement 4.3 grams and a total weight of 35 grams

Looking good!

Some questions:

- If movement weighs the same; what makes the RM035 heavier?

- Does Nadal play with the RM027 or RM035 during matches? (wasn't his own RM027 sold at the "Only watch" auction?)

The same? RM27 movement weights 3.83 grams and the RM35 is 4.3 grams.
The case on the 27 is TI baseplate with bridges of aluminum lithium case is made of composite with a large amount of carbon.

35 has the base plate and the bridges made in TI.
Case is made of Magnesium aluminum alloy.

Nadal indeed plays in his 27 and if i remember correctly he broke 5 RM27's while testing the watch for RM.

And as Mr.Mille said In the beggining when he first started to play tennis with the watch on, He wiped his sweaty forehead with the watchband because the watch was so light that he forgot he was wearing one

So did he only get one RM27? no he didn't
Although they didn't want to say how many he got.

I simply don't get the Richard Mille phenomena. I know they are made by Audemars Piguet and will have a very high level of detail and quality, but Mr Mille takes all the credit for the engineering but it's AP's Renaud & Papi division that does all the work & engineering.

Plus everyone moans about Tudor & AP using piggy back modules, but so does RM, yet it's okay when used in his pieces.

Well Mr. Mille designs all his watches himself so i guess that the credits should go to him.

The complicated movements is manufactured by Audemars Piguet Renaud & Papi
(Tourbillons and Split-Second Chronos.

Other movements are made by Vaucher Fleurier and the ladies calibers are made by Soprod.

Cases are made at different Swiss manufactures.

This is quite true; like your Langes you have to get them at a (big) discount to avoid losing your shirt if you ever look to sell. One would have to be very patient, but for example the RM002s trade in the secondary market for what a RM011 retails for (!)

Trying one on sealed the deal for me -- there is no watch I've experienced that wears so effortlessly, despite its size.

Anyway, here's my contribution to the thread (my RM10):

Anyone have or tried on the Bubba Watson RM 038? As a golfer it's sort of a dream watch of mine, but the price is untenable.

If I could take the thread in a more practical direction, which Richard Mille's are available at a lower cost? If the depreciation on the <$250k models is substantial, what models is it possible to find used at a good value -- and from what sources? I see a lot of discussion of Richard Mille watches, but never see them for sale.

Update: after some quick research, it looks like the RM 010 in Titanium with rubber strap is a popular model.

Richard Mille are rare watches and many are probably bought by rich people who perhaps don't care too much about resale value and instead keep them in their collection for many, many years. I frequent a lot of forums online and rarely see them on the second hand market. If they pop up, it's of course way below retail. There was one for sale at an auction house in Stockholm not too long and the price was just above $20k (RM010 in titanium if memory serves me right). Keep looking and you will find!

Richard Mille himself together with golfer Bubba Watson

On his wrist, the RM038 Richard made especially for Bubba

I really like the photograph:
