I was talking to this salesperson at an AD and she said that you should hurry up and buy as many Rolex as you can because she heard they are raising prices soon...

Of course they will -- why would they do otherwise? IMHO: 1) Desirable product with immense brand recognition--perceived "status" goes up with price increase, as well as values of watches already on the wrists of owners 2) rising costs of raw materials/commodities and manufacturing--gotta pass it somewhere, right? 3) Looming deepening troubles for the world's major fiat currencies 4) price increases have been a fact of life with most products--and certainly luxury goods like watches--as long as I can remember, even in apparently happier times.

Better hurry and buy from ME - NOW, a price increase is coming and another guy was just in here yesterday looking at this same watch. Hurry!!! Her previous job was probably selling used cars.

That is correct sir! E-mail I receieved from my Rep today on the 118235 I am looking to acquire... Names deleted for privacy reasons;

> Just a couple of quick thoughts on the 118235. We were told by Rolex two days ago to "expect a substantial price increase" in February. The watch is currently priced at $30,300 for a day/date, black mother of pearl, with Roman, Arabic, or decorated Roman numerals.

I believe yes. All I knew Panerai will increase their price around 15% in February. And Rolex will do the same. Like it or not.

For a company famed for it`s secrecy,I wonder how it is possible for so many to have so much information from their AD`s ?

There is not an AD in the country that wouldn`t like to sell you a watch right this minute, especially so soon after Christmas when their stores are empty.

Give me a break.

I read somewhere on trf about ads increasing prices of older models when Rolex does a price increase.

Does the grey market follow a similar path? I'm new and trying to learn the ropes, thanks!

No disrespect to anyone, but really? This whole thread and every one on price increase is utterly redundant and counterproductive.. What's the point? We all know only Rolex knows, and just because we complain or condone it here at the forum, it will be business as usual for Rolex ! So can we accept the fact that it will increase every month, year, etc and let this kind of thread die ! Please stop yourself from posting this kind of nonsense questions! Maybe the mods should just delete this kind of thread once they start!

Rolex (London) told me that the boutiques are going to offer a loyalty card scheme to owners. The more Rolex you own the bigger the discounts on future purchases.

Rolex will every year increase prices, but the discounts will be more every year, so the net price you pay for a Rolex will not change

I'm not sure about the US, but in the Middle east prices started declining.

It has to do with the CHF which is declining and probably will continue declining I hope.

Cheers,
K

To clarify, my intention to this thread was to find out if anyone, maybe an AD, would have an inside "scoop" of any info regarding a pending and inevitable price increase that may occur in January or February '12. I'm planning a new purchase very soon and hopefully I would be able to beat the next price increase...

Also, is it true that the Turn-O-Graph is discontinued for 2012?
