You cant spend it when you're gone, so treat yourself now...I said to myself if a woman expects 2-3 months of a man's salary on her finger for an engagement ring, I should at least love myself enough to put 8 grand on my wrist first....I bought the Sub C w/date, and haven't yet regretted it...

Submariner is a timeless piece that will stay in style and remember prices are just going to increase as the years progress. Back in 2010 weren't subs $7100ish msrp (no date).

Its been said already but the great thing is if you decide a few days in that you have made a bad decision , they are so easy to flip at little or no loss at all!!! I certainly dont buy my watches as an investment , but with rolex it is nice to know that they really do retain value , especially if you buy at a good price from one of the great sellers on the forum!!!!

I won't get into quality, finish, features, etc. what I will say is this. I bought my Sub C a year ago and there has not been one day that I didn't get excited to wear this watch. Every day is like the first day for me. I'm totally in love

The Submariner is just so clean, crisp and has the perfect clasp...nobody does comfort and clean lines like Rolex.

I was on the fence just like you...got my new sub this week and it feels like it was made for me...if you're debating the question then you will certainly enjoy the watch because it is that great.

All Subs are 'classic', not just one particular recent reference

Chaps
I bought a 39mm Explorer back in January which was intended to be my one and only Rolex. I like the quiet nature of the beast, it does not scream Rolex, it can be worn with anything on any occasion with any form of attire. It is the perfect gentlemens watch. However in a moment of untypical and uncontrolled passion, I recently bought a mint 2003 sub with a date. I now wish to God I had bought the non date variety because it simply looks miles better than the dated version. The Cyclops is a sensible feature but it clogs up the visuals of the watch whereas the undated versions just looks like what a watch should look like. Therefore I would just go for it, I cannot see you ever regretting it. Regards Mick |

I ordered a 'vanilla' Datejust 116200, due for delivery tomorrow.
Last evening I cancelled it and ordered a 116600 instead. WHY.... I'm 71, the DJ is the watch I should have, NOT the watch that I WANT. I have skinny wrists, 6.75'ish but I'm going for it...and I CAN'T WAIT, it looks a beauty. |

I bought my Sub no date last week. I am so happy about this watch. I'm sure anyone else that buys one feels the same way.

I bought the non date and went back a week later and exchanged it for date. non date is cleaner look but if you wear it daily, the date can be very helpful I find.

Congratulations on the final decision to buy. You won't regret it and will grow to love it more and more. I must ask, have you decided yet what your second will be?
