I am right handed however wear my watches on my left wrist. I think I wear mines on my left wrist due to the fact my father wore his watches on his left wrist.

Right handed...right (wrong) wrist. When I got my first mickey mouse watch when I was about 5 I just put it on my right wrist...no one ever told me differently. I do see the point in wearing it on your non-dominant hand though. Since you tend to reach for everything with the dominant hand (door knobs, etc) you definitely risk banging it up more. Too late to change now, I have tried it and it feels weird to me.

Opposite for me, but I believe this to be correct. Obviously you should wear what is most comfortable, but I do believe this is the correct way. |

When I received my first watch about 60 years ago, I was told I should wear it on my left wrist. I've worn my watches on my left wrist ever since that time. I am right handed and it seems that my watches are less vulnerable to knocks when worn on my left wrist.
Unfortunately, although off topic, my original boy scout watch, my communion-gift watch, and my dad's old watch were among the items stolen when our home was burglarized some years ago. |
