Very nice Kenneth.

I like the Tapisserie dial.

And the subtle buckle.

Buy what you loved most....I don't think investing in watches for good return are good ideas....IMO, if I purchased a watch at S$60,000 and sold for S$50,000 after enjoying it for 5 years, to me It's a profit.

Ken, this is an outrageous stealth incoming thread - we want teasers, a big build up and a huge drum roll......how could you do this to us with no warning!!!!!!

Many congratulations!!!

As to the OP, my personal view is that it won't lose a huge amount, but it will go down.

Investment or not, that's one heck of a cool watch! Big congrats, Ken!

Anyway, can't remember what has been changed on the old vs new RGRC? Kind to enlighten?

Thanks Dickson! Changes: Darker dial, lighter bezel color, gold surrounds, black date wheel, different case back, different movement, different reference #, and font for numbers. I also think it makes a gray pair with the 5980R. the Patek for work and the AP for play!

Wow, what a pair!

Similar taste to me, probably end up getting the rosé gold offshore 44 to accompany my everyone skydweller :)

Great pair, you have a lot of bases covered with those two. I thought the 5980R would have looked a lot smaller next to the ROO.

My goodness, I think I could easily give up a collection and have just those two--absolutely perfect pair.

ROO rubber clad - investment or money pit?

Three questions for the AP experts:

Is it possible to get tang buckle for this watch?

Do you guys think there will be an open caseback version of this watch in the future?

The bezel is not ceramic right?

The tang buckle, ceramic bezel and open case back are all on the similar 26400 in rose gold, I don't think the original model discussed on this page (with rubber bezel) will ever have these features

The 26400 in gold;

The 26400 is 44mm though.

The RG RC: 26178OK.OO.D002CA.01 is now discontinued. The new reference isn't even on AP website and had a very short run.

Oh, I am sorry! I actually intended to ask what's the difference on the new RGRC case back instead of all the differences (I must admit posting on forum with an iPhone while having a meeting is definitely not my strength).

Anyway, it's an extremely useful summary for all of our new AP buddies that are debating between the new and old RGRC!

p/s: Lovely shot and duo, Ken! Work or play, I am sure it feels awesome with either one of them one strapped on the wrist!

Stop posting all these lovely pictures, Ken. The itch of getting something gold from AP for the weekend is terrible!

Anyway, could you please enlighten me about the difference on the new RGRC case back?
