Excellent solution in the perfect world but my better half is much more into her Garmin these days
She would be thrilled if I picked up the DD 40
I'm the undecided person in this mix

Garmin all the way for the Marathon.

I had my wife's DJ and assorted jewelry tucked into my pockets today whilst she ran herself into Lactic Acidosis

Don't doubt that a Rolex could take the pounding but SS and the like might be uncomfortable for 26.2

Well, regardless what you decide on, I am sure it will be marvelous. For me, the DD in any incarnation, but especially the 118238 is a timeless classic and a fantastic reference.

As for the Cellini's, I know I am in the minority on this one, but I do love the look and design of the new line. If I was ever to pick up a dress watch (PM and leather strap) that retails for less than $20K, it would be the Cellini.

She's done 4 Marathons and 2 Half Marathons in a little over a year
She only started running in January 2014 :

Congrats to your wife on her marathon. Takes incredible physical and mental stamina to go the distance. She's definitely super human to work up to full marathon in such a relatively short time since she started running.

As I haven't done any training programmes or anything I think there is still a lot of room for improvement. I'm just a recreational runner at this moment.

I'm thinking of following an 18 week marathon training programme before I'm going to do a full marathon. I know I can probably finish one with my current physical condition but just finishing isn't enough for me.
