The Smurf is the expensive version of a Submariner....it can never be more than that. Compare with a white gold DD40, which, for me, is a far more elegant watch, in a different class really. The Sub was so obviously designed as a simple diver watch, nothing more (or less).
The Skydweller always seems too big when I see one at the ADs . I couldn't wear that very easily. For someone wanting to 'trade up' from a Smurf, the obvious serious move is too a platinum DD40. That's a big enough leap for most wallets! |

I'd personally stick with the sub. But go for whatever feels best for you!

I really like the skydweller; the idea of a solid gold tool watch doesn't appeal to me all that much either. So I'd swap.

I'd go with a DD40. I love the SkyD, but my wrists are too small to carry it.

I'm a firm believer of simpler is more. So I would keep smurf if it is me.

The Smurf is great so you can't go wrong with thy choice. But never underestimate the power of platinum! The Platona wears bigger than its size, too. Good luck in your decision. One more to try to enable! 😉

Skydweller is even larger! Very large and ungainly proportions. I've yet to see it look good.

Absolutely keep the smurf. I think you would regret it later if you trade.

I think you may be right. I parted once with the Smurf and ended up regretting it and bought it again. I was looking to upgrade but I think with the Smurf I may have tapped out. It is an attractive watch. I am not a Daytona fan so not fond of the Platona and only others to upgrade on are Day Date Platinum which I just do not like. Ill try it on once more, but I think Ill stick with Smurf. Thanks all.

I, too, have smallish wrists...how, if I may ask, do you have your bracelet set up? The SKD always fit kind of awkwardly for my tastes. |
