Of course it is under guarantee, other than that would be a scandal...

Wow sad to hear about that on a Patek and to be out of your timepiece for a couple months is another inconvenience.

I'd be bombed if that happened to a piece as expensive (to me) as this. That's party a reason why I consciously stay away from spending anything more than 20K on any sort of complication (which cuts off most of interesting things in a watch). I've seen pushers falling out on AP, power reserve indicators dismantling inside the case on Panerai etc. I try to stick with time-only, simple watches with straight forward construction and as little appendixes on the case as possible. Kinda Nautilus or Calatrava build... I know a lot of folks companion about PP nowadays but hope your wonderful piece will be returned to You shortly as it is a pleasure to wear and look at...

These malfunctions are pretty rare, and obviously highlighted more on forums, and watches have issues no matter what the price level so I think you are missing out far more than what you think you are gaining. Gotta play your best hand in this short life, and let the cards fall as they may.

Dude if you live life with that conservative philosophy you pretty much can't/won't do anything. Like the other OP said these are the minority. You'll see more people write about when shit happens vs. when things are going well. That's life.

I recently got my 5164 back from HSWA. The buttons weren't always working when I tried to change the time zone.

Each to their own, mate. My life is full of stress as is (I am in banking) so no need to complicate it further with watch troubles that can be avoided. I have had a couple of expensive lessons (that Panerai cost me me a pretty penny to fix) so my approach has served me well and whist I don't have perpetual calendars or equitation of time pieces, I am pretty content with my small collection and intend to keep it that way. I never buy brand new or from boutiques so not to take the hit on initial depression, so this is a factor for me when it comes to repairs etc. I am also not telling anyone to follow this theory, we are all adults here so spend your money whichever way you like.

Got it back early and it's working great. Glad to have the 5164 back on my wrist.

Patek Japan was great to work with and sent me home with a travel kit for my trouble.

So sorry this happened. I can imagine how you must have felt, wondering when, where and how it happened, retracing your steps, etc....it's heartbreaking.

I've read this multiple times on other threads and heard it mentioned in person. I'd agree that it's completely unacceptable for a watch at this price point.

It is nice to know that Patek is getting to repairs such as yours swiftly and efficiently. Now go do some fun traveling to another time zone. :)

Oh God! thats so strange.. never expected that to happen. Should still be water proof tho, I assume the seal is around the pushers stem..

I'm surprised no one suggested to take the second pusher off and just enjoy the convertible watch.
