Only 2 father/sons have ever won world titles, and only one claiming two different nations. Rosberg would have grown up with a charmed life in and around Monaco, yet is as humble as an F1 driver gets, unlike Hamilton, who should be humble but is not particularly as his whole career was funded by Ron Dennis......His parting shot on the way out speaks much of Lewis.

Good on Nico a very good if not great driver. Not sure any on the current grid can lay claim to that, Daniel and Max look most likely to do that, probably Max is the only one young enough if he is indeed good enough.

As for replacement at Mercedes, I will go against a lot of the experts and say Pascal will get a run, why, because they are confident in the car being the best, Lewis won't want someone who can challenge him and put pressure in Mercedes to support his run at the title. In truth Pascal may threaten him just like Daniel made Vettel look average in their one year together at Red Bull.

I only got around to watching the Brazil race this afternoon and I have to say that Max's performance was nothing short of spectacular.
In fairness to the rest of the field, we do seem to see these performances from the very young and talented drivers early in their career when all the juices are flowing and they are not encumbered by wives and offspring.
Nevertheless this guy is certainly special.

I'm in 2 minds about Nico's retirement TBH. (I'm certainly not a Nico fan).

On one hand, I think he's bottled it. He realised that he got lucky this year. If it hadn't been for engine failures (especially in Malaysia) he would have lost out again to Hamilton. Just look at the season run in. Hamilton was untouchable.

On the other hand (as a dad) I can totally see it the other way. He has more money than God plus a young family (in a dangerous sport) which no doubt suffered last year with his tireless pursuit of training, preparation and travel etc. Let him go off in to the sunset and enjoy spending time with his family in Monaco.

Certainly not a great but will get added to the list of world champions.
