Dear OP
you don't like it anymore, just sell it off. It's no big deal at the end of the day. What is the point of keeping something you no longer want to use. Regards Mick |

I have seriosly considered buying an Apple Watch, but currently I think I get away with my Fitbit on my right wrist and a proper watch on my left. I think similarly to you the Apple Watch would come in handy for work, but I still think I would want a Rolex for nights/weekends/maybe more formal events.

Many thanks for all your replies guys.
To clarify, I still love the sub and deep down know that I would regret selling it in the long run It just seems such a waste to keep it unworn. Some of you have a posted that I should wear it for work as the sub is as tough as nails and I agree that it is ,but I would feel sick to my stomach if I scratched it up or damaged it so that's not a option. I have form for flipping an item only to buy it again years later, and normally at a increased cost. As a result I think I will take the advice from the majority on here and keep it. I don't need the cash for anything in particular. Normally if you don't know what to do, doing nothing tends to be the best course of action. Cheers again |

What's really sad is is the last time I wore the sub I was constantly tapping on the crystal subconsciously whenever I wanted to read the time.

Do you expect to be told by others whether you love something or not!?
Only you can answer that question!? If you love the Sub but the bracelet is a letdown on yours than get a glidelock Sub.

I'd at least wait until the infatuation phase is over before selling my rolex...

Sure, go ahead and sell the Sub. Just a warning though, I've been around here long enough to know that in a few months you'll be trying to buy it back or find another one.

I have a Apple Watch, don't really see the point of it as you have to have your phone with you anyway.
Wearing a rolex is just class, an Apple Watch, well, I only wear it for work whilst serving machinery. You'll soon get bored of it, take my word for that. |

Can't think of anything worse than an Apple Watch. Like a previous poster said, we are overrun by digital connectedness. It is literally sickening. Wearing a mechanical Rolex watch is a little bit of rebellion in the modern world.
In 20 years time when everyone views the world through some kind of Google eye-goggles with 24/7 immersive internet, wearing a Rolex will be even better!* * Preferably whilst listening to an LP or CD, Scotch on the side! |

Keep the Apple for the day and wear the Sub at night, good excuse for you and yours to go out more to dinner, theatre etc, think of the sub as the marriage saviour.

lol I'm chuckling to myself I think we've been goofed by our 3 post friend.
May be wrong but let's go on the rolex forum and tell them it's for sale in favour of an Apple Watch. Gotta see the funny side guys, i wouldn't take it serious. |

It's hysterical how many BS threads here provoke deep analysis and often debate.

I can't fathom it, but go ahead and sell your Sub if you've lost the mojo.

I think if you sell it you will come to regret it. I have been without one before and after a very short time it became an obsession to replace it.

So the watch you wanted for 20 years has been replaced by a recently acquired Apple watch?
Listen to yourself talk. Give it some time before you make any rash decisions you might regret later. |

Wait a few months before you act. The honeymoon phase can be very deceiving.

AN APPLE WATCH!! You can't be serious!
Slap that thing on your other wrist and cover it up, and wear your sub with pride. |

Have I lost my love for Rolex?
I'm no mechanical purist, I have no problem with a quartz and the idea of a wrist device doesn't bother me at all (my PC, phone and tablet are all Apple as well, and if the Apple watch had looked like a watch [e.g. Tag Connected, I would have jumped at it]. Nevertheless giving up my "real" watches: Rolex DJ and Tudor BBB and just having a device is something I could never do. If you need the money, OK, but otherwise keep the Sub, it's a treasure that you can pass on if you have children, and even if you only wear it for special occasions, or take it out to gloat over it, it's worth keeping. I think you would regret it the moment it's gone.

I can't relate to your Apple each dilemma, because my interest in fine mechanical timepieces has nothing to do with weather reports, navigation or reading text messages. In fact, it is quite the opposite...In a high tech world, the affection towards a mechanical watch, and a car that I have to drive, interests me more than ever.

Decided I'm definitely keeping it . I will wear the Apple Watch for work and Rolex for days off. I would have definitely regretted selling it in the future.
In the few years I have owned it, it has increased in value quite significantly and far better than any bank account interest would. I can't see that changing either so a good investment. I still get a buzz when I wear it and I'm sure that the novelty of the Apple Watch will no doubt wear off as most have posted. Who needs weather alerts anyway as it's always raining in Yorkshire England I've lost count how many times I've sold a car only to regret doing so just because I fancied a change. Thanks to the majority of you who have given sound advice it's really appreciated. Not so much thanks to the ones who called me a troll . 😀 |

I have an Apple Watch and a Rolex BLNR and I love both. The BLNR is special and is a keeper. The Apple Watch is fun and useful for when I'm exercising and want to keep track of how far I've walked. If I'm out running / cycling I don't want to be wearing my BLNR really so there's room in your life for both.
I guess the only problem with the Apple Watch or any other "tech" watch is that at some stage it will need replacing as it'll be out of date. Mine is the original Apple Watxh and I reckon another few years and Apple will stop supporting it with updates and therefore forcing me to buy another more up to date one. The Rolex on the other hand will last me a life time! |
